I honestly don’t believe he thinks that of himself.

Despite the fact that he has said it in multiple press conferences? Maybe not specifically in this one but he mentioned himself among those that need to do better multiple times.

And yes he has done a poor job of recruiting.

Not really, the freshman are talented and flash but he was tasked with putting together an entire defense in two recruiting and transfer classes because O left him with no players. Last year we got lucky that the majority of guys were good. This year we are not so lucky.

Yes his DC hire was poor

At the moment that seems true but House was good last year and if it stays this bad, Kelly doesn't seem like the type of coach to run it back without changes.

Yes he has made some baffling game management decisions.

IDK what specifically you are referring to but he has also made a lot of good coaching decisions particularly when the offense has the ball. No coach makes the best decision all the time. Even Saban and Kirby have lapses in judgement from time to time.

That doesn’t mean he truly thinks that. That’s just press conference politics at this point. “I’m the head coach and it all stops with me so I need to be better”. We’ve heard that response a hundred times from a hundred different coaches.

Where are these young players? LSU has a long history of freshman and sophomores making a huge impact. So far only Perkins and Weeks have shown anything. Two recruiting classes and no true edge rushers to show for it? No DBs ready to step in? No young DL ready to step in.

clock management at the end or the Arkansas game. Clock management in the Ole Miss game. Knowing with two minutes left you have to get the first down to win, and going with a true 3rd down play call because you won’t go for it on 4th down. Poor decisions

So the answer for you is there is nothing he can say because even if he says it you won't believe it. cool.
