LSU O-lineman Garrett Brumfield "We're going against one of the best defenses in the country, so of course guys are gonna make plays."

"Some days the defense wins the day, some days the offense wins the day. I think Saturday may have just been a day the defense won."

"A long time ago a guy told me, 'It doesn't take a whole lot of guys. It takes the right guys,'" Brumfield said.
"I think we have the right guys."

This comes less than 48 hours after LSU coach Ed Orgeron said he was not pleased with the offensive line's performance in the first scrimmage Saturday (Aug. 11). Orgeron said the line had too many penalties and struggled with the outside rush.

NOLA LINK

Something to ponder - LSU's offensive line made a noticeable improvement last year after starting off poorly, are these the right guys on the O-line? LSU's defense in 2018 may really be that good. Fans will soon find out which is the answer against Miami.

Maybe Orgeron should start doing a better job getting linemen.

You don’t think our D is elite?

I don’t like the offensive players using that as an excuse though.

We could likely face 4 teams with better defensive fronts this year.

I want to hear about the practices where offense supposedly dominates. I heard this same line in the miles days.

Oh yes, because the game is won or lost because of the fans. Yeah, the fans can make sure nobody sacks the QB. The fans can open those big holes for running backs to go through. Yeah, the fans are the missing piece here....

I don't see why not. I think it is the best LB corps in the country with a top-10 DL in front of them.

It is evident from the stats Aranda was sending people. Anything but vanilla. And it showed.

I'm one of those who does NOT think the OL is just fine. I do however think they are a work in progress with the potential to be very good.

But yes- they, as un-ready as they were, faced an agressive and elite D. Even with 2's in on the D.

I think our front 7 is stout but so are Bama, Auburn, Moo St, UGA. The line has to get better.

A smart reporter would have asked that question, none of LA.'s reporters are smart.
