It wasn't just 5 games. It was what carried over from last season. So it was 15 games with little to no improvement along with two new hires Ed made in OC/DC hires for the second year in a row.
His leadership as a HC is severely lacking, that's obvious. We've already mentioned the disconnect between him and the players (for the second year in a row), at some point, it's part of the AD's job to end the speculation as to 'when' is he going to be fired. Which is what happened.

We’ll go 6-6 probably. Beat ULM and one of Arkansas or A&M. Which we really need to. Those extra bowl practice reps for our really young squad will be really beneficial going into next season. Even if it’s reps with a staff that will all be replaced.

Ed showing he earned that 17 mill to close out his time at LSU. Players just flat out quit on this Guy. Some were injuries but some were questionable as well.

5-7 most likely, but 4-8 is really no worse IMO. Anything less than a bare minimum winning season is a colossal embarrassment for this team and for this program.
