I have read many books. In fact, my paid occupation revolves around the ability to read from books quickly and condense the information before crafting it into an argument. I would posit that I have read far more books than you. The only person I know that has read more books than me is my wife who also makes her living in a book centered occupation as a librarian. Since we are on the subject, I would encourage you to attend the Louisiana Book Festival next weekend at the Louisiana State Library. I doubt I would be volunteering my time to promote literacy if I were averse to reading books.

As far as my age goes, I take it as a compliment that an obviously ill-informed hipster would consider me to be an old man. I am in fact 31 and happen to be a very likeable and affable person filled with peace.

I don't need or want your forgiveness as I have done nothing to warrant it and you have done nothing to be in a position to grant it.

I don't need anger management since I tend to stay away from annoying folks like you.

You would think that in light of the whole Shady's bar brawl fiasco that ultimately cost Jordan Jefferson and Josh Johns four games of the season due to their own stupidity that the LSU players would be making an extra effort to avoid any off the field issues.
Clearly no lessons learned.

You would think that in light of the whole Shady's bar brawl fiasco that ultimately cost Jordan Jefferson and Josh Johns four games of the season due to their own stupidity that the LSU players would be making an extra effort to avoid any off the field issues. This is especially true considering you are playing on the #1 ranked team in the country and have everything to lose by doing something stupid like this. Mathieu probably has more to lose than anyone. He can kiss the Heisman goodbye along with any other postseason awards. Ware has to know that Ford, Blue and the rest of the backs are just waiting to be given the chance to be the featured back and he just handed it to them on a silver platter.

They apparently did a stupid thing, and are apparently paying a price.

Whether you like it or not, much of this goes back to the coaching staff's complete lack of discipline with this team. A lot of you rantards jokingly talk about this team's "swagger". When it comes to "swagger", you have to take the good with the bad.

I don't know what the internal disciplinary situation on the team is, so I wouldn't be able to offer a meaningful opinion on it. My guess is that pretty much everybody on this board is in the same boat.

I just hope we don't look back on this selfish act by these three players as a reason why the team's MNC goal was not realized.

It would be a shame if the apparent dumb mistakes of these three players cost their teammates and coaches a chance at a national championship, but then that's the nature of team sports. One, or a few, can do something really stupid that ruins things for the whole team. Part of the reason for having team sports is to teach that very lesson, that when you are part of a team, you have a responsibility to the whole team, not just to yourself. These guys apparently haven't learned that lesson yet, but maybe they are learning it this week.

By the way, I use "apparent" and "apparently" throughout this post because I still don't know for sure what the facts are or what the consequences will be, only the "apparent" facts and consequences based on the reports coming out. They could be completely false for all I know.

What over the last year doesn't support my assertion?

Anyone that doesn't see there being a discipline problem with this team has their head in the sand.

I have had my sig pic since I joined the site in 2004. I like it. The 2003 team was my favorite LSU team, hence the homage to the championship from that year in my sig pic. Saban was still the coach when I got the sig pic. To interpret my sig pic as a Saban bias would be a fallacy. I honestly could care less if "Harry Coleman Beast" or anyone else takes me seriously. If you are unable to gauge my posts based on their content and not some perceived bias from a sig image then you are obviously beyond help.

I can't understand why people think Miles lacks control if this team. Kids will be kids. He is a coach not god. He can't hold all of their hands 24/7. Kids are gonna do dumb shite sometimes and I can guarantee we've all done our fair share. The way Miles has handled discipline so far shows he is of good character. Lighten up people and quit freakin out over shite we've all done at one point or another!

if it was weed or adderral, they shouldn't be suspended at all IMO.

I'd rather players smoke than drink

thanks for sharing your opinion. however, in real life, weed is still illegal. and therefore it is TABOO.

In any case, its illegal and they know it. now they also know that testing will catch their young butts. maybe once is enough.

You never know. The bars are full of guys who tell stories of their glory days. "I coulda been a contenda".

Pot actually has two sides to it. Ripping good pot can enhance performance. That is an unfair advantage. And regular use can abuse some organs, like the lungs and adrenals and tire the user. And thus harm performance. Boxing makes pot illegal because it confers an advantage.
