To everyone on this board saying 9-3 or 8-4. This is not the Miles era LSU.
LSU has arguably the top 5, maybe the best coordinators in all of college football.
LSU also has NFL talent as usual.
I will not predict a perfect season.
You always need a few calls/plays to go your way.(See Auburn & Florida last year) If we get them, unlike in recent years, I feel confident this team will exceed most peoples expectations.

What do you think we were doing before the Miles era?

Well, if you predicted 9-3 or 8-4 in 2003, you would have been mistaken.

And if you had predicted 9-3 or 8-4 in a number of Miles' seasons, you would've been mistaken. What's your point?

You love you some Les Miles. Miles was very good first 8 years. He was way off his last 3+. I'm pretty sure they are referring to the last 3-4 years. You know, those years that drove everyone crazy watching a Les Miles offensive game plan.

The people who say miles wasn't good early on are just as ignorant as the people who say O is a certain failure.

Refer to Ozone1's post, he gets it.

I guess you and I have a different definition of the word era. I didn't know it meant the last 3-4 years of a coach's career.

I don't think the O-line will stay healthy enough to win more than 8 games.

BS, we are going 10-1 this year

10-2 with a loss to Bama
Agreed

and Florida/Tennessee/Auburn
Agreed, and the sad thing is, we shouldn't lose to any of these teams this year, but we will some how manage to frick up one of them

What's sad is this is a whole new regime, yet you still hold steadfastly on to the miserable times from recent years, as if nothing changed.

It's going to be bad for Coach O if he drops more than 3.
If O goes 8-4 or worse, is Alleva dumb enough to fire him immediately so we pay 3 head coaches in 2018?
Well, yes. Big question is if smarter people overrule him.

Why does everyone think that we'll lose to a crappy team like Tennessee?

Lol trolling again aren't you. Stay terrible guy, stay terrible.
Trolling about what moron? It's you all who predict this 2 loss, 1 loss season with all the questions marks and inexperience we have.

So basically it isn't O's fault because Miles left him with no qb to win more than 9 right? You just conceded that.
What the f*ck are you going on about? Etling is not a playmaker and he won't be able to win the big games for us, that's all I'm talking about. People predicting these high records think we'll have zero injuries on the OL, and that Etling has stopped being mediocre.
Our defense and Guice will keep us in every game, but when we have to make those 1-2 plays to win the tough close ones against the big opponents, he won't be able to. I can't even remember the last time LSU had a playmaker at QB who could actually win the big games.
You better get like me and pray that Guice can stay healthy all year.

Of course I want us to go 12-0 but I'd still be damn happy if we go 10-2. That's a NY6 bowl that will help validate coach O. Then recruiting will get much better.

Drew brees was recruited by PURDUE!!!! PURDUE!!!! Yea I said PUR-DUE.
LOL, this isn't the same Purdue as back then. Purdue also had Austin Appleby who replaced a benched Etling. Appleby got benched himself and then went to UF while Etling went to LSU. Both had pretty damn close to the same seasons, I.e. mediocre at best.
