I'd bet you could get decent tickets outside of the stadium due to the 3 hr delay. Some people are surely unloading theirs because they have to be up early.

ESPN doesn’t care about asses in the seats, they care about viewers that will stay up all night watching this game.

It’s all about ratings, viewers and money

My folks got there an hour early and went back home when the delay was announced. 2.5 hour ride.

They just overwatered the field. Delayed to 9:06.

I'd bet ESPN would have a better audience at 8pm than 11-12 EDT/CDT.

Both coaches can express their wishes, but the NCAA site manager makes all calls on weather. Neither coach has anything to do with the final decision on start time.

That’s not the process at all. Coaches are not supposed to offer input at all really.

It’s the NCAA rep, and a school designated appointee who monitors the situation and makes recommendations that the rep typically rubber stamps.

The conspiracy theory (which I think has merit), is that Johnson is unilaterally influencing those recommendations

So you don’t think they care at all that the game got bumped from a primary station(ESPN/ESPN2) in prime time to a secondary one. (ESPNU/ESPNNEWS/etc)

Ok Wilbur. Keep on rationalizing.

This game would be almost ending if they started on time.

Psssssst. Value of those viewers are different on different channels.

Let’s break it down simply: ESPN scheduled the channel and the time they did because it would make them the most money. And not just the LSU game, but to try to get lead in viewers for the next game.

That best case scenario has been denied them.

What is your point? That they can put a game at any time on any channel and it’s all the same, and not just them trying to make the best they can of the situation?
