LSU coulda/shoulda/woulda had that record this season!

Finished 18 - 14

Losses that come to mind that should be a W:
South Alabama
Coastal Carolina
Virgina (ranked at time)
Ms St (ranked at time)
TN

Be at 23 - 9 right now and in the NCAA Tourney.

Here's to hoping it does actually happen next year!

Almost every .500 or slightly better team can play this game though. Including Auburn who wasn't very good this year.

So why does Hickey have better numbers than Lacy? What about Hamilton? You do realize his numbers are far better than the players you're bringing up right?
I do, but I also understand the game of basketball, the positions/role those two play for Bama and how they are currently (especially early) deferring to talented upper class-men.

No need to be a douche, I was just discussing the topic of the thread and responding top a post.

He's right about the early season games when our entire team was made up of new faces for the most part.

And again, despite his effort today, the players you named on Alabama's team aren't necessarily better than players on LSU's. You can qualify it all you want and say that you were talking about "talent" but that's just bullshite. JOB has more upside than any of the players listed but who knows if he'll realize it.

This is a total non-answer. I can't argue with anyone that wants to hold onto the thought that a player is more talented, despite what the numbers say. I can't prove to you that JOB has more upside than anyone, even if I believe it to be true. Doesn't make it right. All we have right now is the numbers indicating Hamilton is more productive than anyone you named.

I was talking about talent. That is what I said. I have no dog in this fight. I would be happy for Alabama to suck at everything. However, they are likely to be better than AU, MSU, OM and LSU next year. Anything can happen, especially in basketball where one player can make a huge difference, but those two freshmen for Alabama are very talented.

This is just dumb. Numbers matter, but they aren't the only thing that matters. I watch basketball, so I can offer opinions on which players are more talented than others.

I know. And I was saying I can't argue against something this subjective. I think JOB has more talent than everyone we've discussed. But it really doesn't mean anything if he doesn't prove it on the court.

I don't think the difference between LSU and Alabama is sizeable at all. Alabama making the tourney this year will put them above us next year, but I don't see a big difference next year without them having Green.

Of course you can. I can offer the same opinions because I watch basketball too. I think JOB is the most talented, and I guess I don't need to prove it with anything but saying that I've watched basketball. So there.

And we have a difference of opinion. Not a big deal. I'm simply superior at evaluating college basketball talent.

No, you just provided us with why the SECr can be so intolerable at times. Because you don't actually have to prove anything to make an opinion unfounded by any factual proof. All you need is the ability to watch a sport and that is enough.

Trevor Lacy and Levi Randolph

Randolph is pretty good. Lacy is one of the worst 5-stars I've seen. I wouldn't trade Hickey for either one of them.

Hickey's better production doesn't matter because he watches basketball.

It's not like Hickey's numbers are significantly better than Lacey's. Given that he gets significantly more minutes with less senior talent on his team, they should be somewhat better.

Hickey doesn't pass the eye-ball test for you? He wasn't a heralded recruit? He's undersized? Has an ackward stroke? Well, all these things still made him more productive, and one of the real bright spots on this year's LSU team. And he was a true freshman.

Like I said, I can't argue with you about who you "feel" is more talented, because you can't be wrong. And one day, you may even be proven right. But all we have right now is production, and he produced.

Alternatively, with less senior talent, he has less talented players, making him less effective because he can't rely on others as much. Works both ways.

I like Hickey, I just think Lacy and Randolph are more talented.
