This would be awesome. However, CBS will stick their nose in there and we'll have to deal with at least one afternoon game. GRRRRR

But since all/most of our home games last year were afternoon games..... I wouldn't think that would repeat.

Then again, I think logically. The less I hear Verne's stupid chuckles the better.

This is the biggest reason why the atmospher of tiger stadium is starting to get weaker.

Wait until this season when 25-50 thousand people don't even bother to show up because it now costs $40 to park anywhere close to the stadium.

Scenario: Someone's been tailgating all day, someone offers a ticket that's being un-used. "Sure, I'll go! Thanks!"

Now, that person won't be on campus to accept the ticket. People won't casually head out hoping to get a ticket, but if not, "tailgate and watch the game at The Chimes; etc."

New Scenario: Stadium for rent-a-wins will never have more than 75k to start. SEZ, upper decks will look like the student section for some games.

I still plan on going to all the games. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my crow. But I don't think I will be.

The atmosphere (all over campus as well) is gonna be like a late season Purdue v. Indiana game.

Only if there are a couple of solar eclipses during the season.

Alright...

Week 2:
NW St will be a night game but who cares?

Week 5:
Kentucky will most likely be at night because Bama UF will get the 2:30 time slot on CBS. The only way I see it being a day game on CBS is if CBS uses their one prime time slot all season for Bama UF game.

Week 6:
I have no idea whats going to happen this weekend. LSU plays UF, Arky play the Barn, UGA plays UT, and UK plays SC. All these game have potential to get the CBS draw depending on how the teams in the match-up are doing. This weekend is anyones guess. CBS better save their prime time slot for this weekend so they get to show 2 great games on the same weekend instead of having to give all but one up to ESPN.

Week 8:
This will be a day game against AU, no other exciting games on the slate this week besides OM Arky. Unless Vandy and Army are both undefeated, i think this is a game locked in for 2:30 on CBS.

Week 10:
USM will be a night game

Week 12:
2:30 on Friday against the Flagship

I hope so. But I have a feeling that we get bumped to Sat in favor of the iron bowl.

But if that happens, at least it'll be at night most likely.

As an old Geezer, we played most games in Tiger stadium at night. I sure miss the old days because of being night games. Gave us all day to get high, by game time we were wired!

I don't get you people who cry foul over CBS and afternoon games.

Being on at 2:30 is a good thing. A great thing.

Having nothing but night games is a bad sign for the program.

Western Kentucky will be lucky to have 50K fans.

Several games last year couldnt even give away tickets. Factor in a late fall game against a weak opponent with a parking fee, its going to be a poor attended game to say the least.

You mean the University of Kentucky? The team thats in the SEC that beat LSU the last time they played when LSU was number 1? Yea im sure no Tiger fans will be pissed about that and there will be a weak ateendance at that game. No one will be looking for revenge even if it is 4 years later...

No, having nothing but night games NOT nationally televised is a bad sign for your program...CBS could pick them up and leave them as their 7 pm game instead of the 2:30 game...

They are not allowed to because of the contracts between CBS, ESPN, and the SEC. CBS is only allowed one per season because of the contract.

Thank you for the info...I was concentrating more on the statement that having all nights games is bad for your program and that is not entirely true if all your games are some how played at night and still on national tv by one of the networks...

Now if all your games are at night and just local or on ESPN The Ocho yeah it's a bad sign...

Which is why I left that section of your post out in my quote because I agree.
