We need to copy Syracuse's short passing game

Get rid of the ball in a half-second, let the playmakers make plays. They killed us with that. For some reason, we refused to jam their receivers at the line consistently.
But we should. It was quite effective.
Perhaps it's because we don't practice this sort of passing game. Perhaps our defenders can't defend for more than a couple seconds. Perhaps our D line is getting no pressure.
I'm thinking Brennan might be the guy to implement this scheme. Come on, Canada, wake up. Show some variety in the passing game. Some slants (more than one a game) might be nice.

3 & out gives the defense little time to rest also. Our passing game is predictable and low-percentage. That needs to change.

yeah, everyone is trying to mimic the cuse. Mimic the cuse and share their mediocrity
Also, we cant mimic it. we were giving 9 yard cushions. if we were toed up man to man, they would have had zero short passing game. We gave them those routes (I dont know why).
If we play toe to toe and cant cover, then we get beat deep. nice superficial evaluation

It is amazing... every offense wizard on this board has a solution that lies in just calling different plays.. No one ever stops to consider what happens if in this scenario the ball is INT, or the receiver drops it or it is batted, or the QB is blitzed until hurt, followed by a punt.
The typical post says something like "all we have to do is hit the WR crossing in space and in stride." Good god! No shite?

yeah. thats what I want.
I want balance, I want multiplicity, I want backs heavily involved in the pass game, I want intermediate routs over the middle of the field. What I dont want is some high schoolish air raid hurry up gimmick 60+ pass per game hurry up playbook. Hey, if we run 120 plays, were bound to hit on at least 3 of them type of offense.

Better be happy that LSU can run the ball or would you rather have no type of run game like ole miss you gotta be able to run the ball to have success in the SEC
