This. It's not that they are actual rivals. It's that they think they are. They flaunt the fact that they won the New Orleans bowl when we lost the national title game. And you can say it's a select few but tons of people have all the same stories and experiences that I'm talking about. It's a large portion of their fan base. They think Lafayette is the best place on earth and ULL is the greatest higher education institution ever built.

I have no problem with people posting on the MSB or on SECRant team specific forums. I wish the Tiger Rant was like the other team specific forums where people had to be approved to post on them.

I am happy for your program and your fanbase. Living in Lafayette for 35+ now, I know how long the athletic programs have waited for this kind of success. I have seen and heard the hate for LSU so being an LSU fan is not easy but I understand it's part of it. But with that said, this is your time. Enjoy it. Your programs are in good shape and that's a good thing. I honestly wished I cared more but I just don't. College Baseball is over for me and I won't watch another game. I'll get invited to some parties to watch UL-L and will not attend simply because I just don't care. No offense or disrespect. I'm sure I'll get texts with scoring updates. I'm sure the atmosphere at the Tigue will be great this weekend.

On a side note, is it now safe to start LSU football threads without "it's baseball season" responses? Frickin can't wait to see the young talent this season.

I grew up in Lafayette & lived there for over 20 yrs, so I know the USL fan base well. For every "nice" fan who posts here, there are 100's who mock LSU openly & openly pull for whoever LSU is playing. Fact.I've heard it for over 2 decades & ongoing. LSU baseball has only cancelled playing one university in its history because of their fan's & program's behavior & attitude: USL.Even as ugly as the Tulane series got there for a while, LSU never stopped playing them. We play them now only because CPM is showing some class..and look at the crap we fans get in return for the favor. As for all those LSU flags & license plates in Lafayette, there are more LSU alums living there than anywhere else besides N.O. and Houston. Those are not USL fans. Take this to the MSB where it belongs.

I am pulling for the Cajuns, a Tiger first but a Louisiana boy so yes Let's get behind the Cajuns and quit hat'n !
