I agree. Alabama and Georgia lose both their QB and RB, but it's automatic that we lose to them.

I think everyone is optimistic because he doesn't seem to make many mistakes. I think they're are some people hyping him up a little too much, he doesn't need to be a Heisman candidate for us to win 10 games. Hell he doesn't even have to be a 2nd team all SEC. We have a top notch stable of running backs, an elite Wr, and a TE that will play on Sundays next year.

This + Jefferson's scrambling + an improved defense - 637 pick six's = LSU success

We had a .333 starting QB in 2001 and folks were bouncing off the wall about him and the team. That team turned out pretty good.

Oh,BTW,that fellow had a big game to close out the prior season in Atlanta in the Chik-fil-A, nee Peach Bowl.

LSU is screwed this year, next year, 2 seasons from now. They should just move to the sun belt and get it over with.

LSU has no talent
LSU has no leadership
LSU is the Titanic, it is taking on water and has sprung a leak. Get out now while you can.

We don't have one......I don't think Shepard is the answer either. Flynn had it, Russell, his last season had it, Davey.

Dude, go take a happy pill or something...Debby Downer.

Why not be optimistic? We ended up with a "terrible" season? Yes? Look back at the games! As bad as it was, we were IN THOSE GAMES! We put up 38 on UGA! Took No.1 Bama to overtime, lost to Arky on bonehead penalties. That's 3 wins we gave away. I think Jefferson does have "it." I think the "it" is CONFIDENCE. As as earlier poster said, he doesn't have to be all-SEC, just don't lose games buy turning the ball over. Manage the game and make good decisions.

Cheer up. It's almost football season. Life is good.

He wont be demise, he is like Leo, he is trying to help there is nothing he can do.
This year so many question marks and a rough schedule. Next year we have to replace a ton of leadership at key positions. It will fall on Chris Garrett and Derek Dooley to bring LSU back to dominance.

Good points. Now that Saban's players are gone Miles and LSU are doomed. We're going to miss the days of Hallman before you know it.

This is the way I prepare for football season. I pick apart the team, micromanage it down to a 6-6 team so I don't get disappointed if they lose a couple of games.

if i remember correctly he looked off a safety on a long pass in the bowl game, which was the only time i saw an LSU QB do that all season.

Then why are they better? Why SHOULD we lose to them?

because i am a tiger fan...maybe?

to answer your question- the indicator of future performance is past performance...and I liked what I saw in JJ. He is mobile and does have the arm strength for the league. Best I could tell on TV he did show some leadership.

Dual threat QB is best option to keep defenses honest... and our running game will help with that as well.

But maybe that's just me being over optimistic.
