Dude please this is a team that was patched together and they are missing Sampson as well. Will Wade is getting everything he can out of this team. I love what I see the future is bright for the LSU Basketball Team. No one in the right mind expects LSU to make the NCAA tournament. Let Wade get his recruits in.

Wade is a good coach and we are a much better team now compared to last year. However the issue today is one that won’t get fixed this season and it’s the front court play. We have to get better at 4 and 5. Diop and Epps give all they have but they are not the answer. I hear that help is on the way next season so let’s hope that pans out and the coach stays.

I’ve seen a lot of replies in this thread and others that suggest expectations should be low with this team, and that no one in their right mind would think this team is capable of making the tourney. These people must not be paying attention to other scores. The same Michigan team we beat has also beaten Indiana, who beat the same Notre Dame team today that we lost to by 40. They’ve also beaten Texas who took duke and Gonzaga to overtime.

I really hope will wade isn’t telling our guys losses like today are alright because we’re not supposed to challenge this year anyways.

I share your concerns about low post play. It’s a weakness. But even with that weakness we’ve shown the ability to compete with anyone minus the inexplicable blowout by Notre Dame. That’s what makes today’s loss so frustrating. SFA will probably make the tourney and we should have a win over them had we just played more composed at times.

No, not a bad thing, Martin is a good player, his attributes just are not the same as Karl. Karl is one of the greatest low-post scorers in the history of the NBA. Martin is more of a face the basket scorer. Both are athletic (well, Karl was athletic), just their strengths were/are different. If I was going to use a comparison to a player who wasn't very good, I'd of used Elbert Robinson. Not that it was really Elbert's fault, he just didn't have much athletic ability. I was just referring to the difference in the way the two play the game.
