Just some tidbits from TAMU'S spring game in 2012 with Manziel and Showers;

quote:

The White team rolled nearly up nearly 600 yards of total offense using Sumlin's high-octane, fast-tempo offensive scheme. The Aggies' first- and second-team offensive units combined to run 105 plays in the first half alone.

Also scoring a touchdown through the air for the Aggies was sophomore-to-be Malcome Kennedy, who connected with quarterback Jameill Showers on a 63-yard scoring strike.

The Aggies' top two passers combined for over 350 passing yards with Showers connecting on 20-of-31 passes for 203 yards and two TDs with no interceptions and redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel completing 13-of-27 attempts for 154 yards with one TD and one INT.

From that it seems like Manziel was beat out. For everybody going coco bananas over the spring game, just chill. The fall practices can be completely different.

wasted like other players that have attended LSU. Holliday comes to mind.

yes! Why wasn't he shifted to DE. Do you really think a OT would have even ben able to get out of his stance before HOliday was in the QB's face. Complete waste of talent.

Let me start out by saying I don't know who is the best of Rettig, AJ and BHarris. I am not pushing any of them over the others. But unlike some I have not written off Rettig.

I think there is a good chance that down the line he could be the starter. This year it would take two injuries. But BHarris will play/Rettig will redshirt. So unless he can't beat out next years QB's etc there is a real chance we see him play his senior year or even sooner if BHarris ever gets hurt or goes pro early.

So it is premature for anyone other than Rettig to bring up him transferring.

I don't know but just because Rettig is 3rd string and isn't really in the hunt for first string right now doesn't mean AJ and BHarris have truly seperated themselves. I would guess it is more like Rettig needs to mature a bit. Get stronger. Get Faster. Get more physical.

I believe it is more like Rettig hasn't seperated from the others there for since he isn't a mobil scrambler he was removed from serious contention THIS YEAR! It doesn't mean that he isn't right there with AJ and Harris in passing and knowledge and such.

As I recall, Manziel had been beaten out and was set for a back up role till injuries opened the door for him.

You never know what you got till you see it between the lines in a packed stadium. imo

You either have faith that two pretty successful coaches, Cam and Miles, play the guys who give LSU the best chance of success or you don't...I do.

You mean like Miles playing JJ the entire Bama NC game, and letting Lee sit the bench?

Sorry, but that shook my faith in Miles' ability to give us the best chance to win.
