Let's talk about the implications of that for SEC titles, playoff bids, and the like. Why the hell not.

It would be played the next day or rescheduled if it's an SEC game.

Interestingly enough, the SEC actually does have rules in place to break a 2-way tie for a division title beyond just head-to-head. If two West teams went 7-0 in SEC play and their game against each other was cancelled, the SECCG representative would be decided by the SEC records of their East opponents.

As already mentioned, though, we'd find a way to make up an SEC game.

But the logistics! How can they staff the stadium? What about hotel rooms? It's impossible to do such a thing.

Just like 2005, they would even play on a Monday night if necessary.

That was a different situation. They knew Rita was coming, so the decision to postpone that game was made several days in advance.

Stop using logic and reason. The collective genius on the rant will tell you that it's no different than trying to reschedule an already-started game for 12 hrs later.

Lots of games were cancelled that year, so they were able to basically just added a week to the season.

I'm not sure what they would do if a single SEC game had to be called off with no notice. In 2005, they had time to reschedule because they knew Rita was coming. In 2001, all sporting events were cancelled that weekend after 9/11, so most sports leagues just added a week to the season.

If the two teams happened to have a bye week the same week, obviously they'd just play then. Otherwise, I don't know.

You guys are really getting paranoid, they will get the SEC games played. And frankly how many times has LSU lost a scheduled game or not made it up later. I know the rules are different and I think LSU should have put up McNeese for the night even if on campus and played in the early afternoon Sunday, but it is done deal so lets focus on Saturday night and go from there.

In reference to the McNeese game, if it came down to playing on Monday night or not playing it at all, I would choose not playing it at all. Playing Miss State on five days rest just to play an FCS team is silly.
