My god you’re a special kind of stupid. If somebody can average more assists at a higher level of play it erases your ignorant “CJ can only shoot” argument you dolt. BTW my seats are in 207 behind the opponents goal for the first half of games. Come sit with me you’ll learn more basketball in one half than you know right now, that I can promise you.

I agree. CJ's defensive ability was always under rated as well. But anybody that honestly believes Waters is better or more valuable than CJ are either lying, don't know a damn thing about basketball or has never seen CJ play. That kid carried that LSU team all season and thank God for Dale Brown giving him the green light to shoot at will. Man, what a treat it was to watch him play.

Waters and Jackson should not be mentioned in the same sentence... As much as I enjoy watching Waters play, he can’t compare to Jackson... Although Waters had 1.9 assists and .4 steals more than Chris and were even on rebounds, the shooting statistics weren’t even close as Chris shot 48% and Waters shot 41%... I’ll take Jackson every day of the week over Waters... having said that, I’m extremely grateful to have Waters play for LSU and hope he is able to continue to get better because he is still a special player... I believe he’ll show his capabilities once he has a better surrounding cast, something Chris did have at his time there

Waters is the better passer by miles...never said I'd take Waters over CJ. But Waters has more facets to his game.

No he doesn’t and no he’s not a better passer by miles. He’s a slightly better passer and that’s the only thing he does better. And yes you did you said “Waters is a better all around player than Jackson” and that all “CJ can do is shoot.” Now you’re crawfishing on those statements and acting like you didn’t say that so not only are you stupid, you’re dishonest as well. Plz do yourself a favor and go away, don’t you think you’ve embarrassed yourself enough?

CJ wins scoring contest..Waters wins every other category, therefore has better overall game. Not hard.

Agree Mad and the comparison is asinine. And I am a Waters fan, but CJ was on another level his freshman year it was historic.
Now defensively IMHO it's comparable. Both were adept at getting steals but neither bought in to playing D. And IMHO both were capable of better, WW still needs to work to get Waters committed to defense.
I think he's tried but has not been successful. He played offense/defense with Waters a lot in late game situations he compromised us on D so much.

I don’t think it’s a buy in problem with Waters, I see him giving effort he’s just too small. In the non-conference he was maybe our best defender, remember the block vs Houston? But once the bigger more physical SEC guards started wearing on him it took its toll and affected both ends for awhile. Which leads me to my point about CJ being better defensively, he was 3/4 inches taller (5-8 vs 6-0) and an infinitely better athlete than Waters so while I think Waters plays harder on defense Jackson had so many physical advantages in that regard it was easier for him to defend. We know for a fact that CJ could defend NBA level players, he wasn’t a great defender but his team was a very good defensive team and he was good enough to start for and be a leader on that team. Waters is having a lot of trouble with college guards so again CJ is much better.

I think it's more than that MAD. Him getting beaten off the dribble too easily even when it's not a screen situation is frustrating for me because it's bad technique. IMHO he has the quickness to do better in that regard, yet it happens continuously.
Whether it's effort or attention to detail I do think there is buying in to do. The issues are in my view deeper than size.
