Cody Glenn pitched against ULL in the regionals in 2013. LSU won that game easily. Are you confused on your years? LSU was the best team in the nation in 2013 until we choked in Omaha's no fly zone outfield.

You are the one that brought up Robe's insistence that his team plays with a chip on their shoulder. That's such a little man move. How bout you just win and let your play do the talking?

Wrong, Bonvillian did. Glenn threw the Tuesday night game in Lafayette

nope, but it's obvious you're confused on a lot more than the years

so lsu wasn't the best team is what you're trying to say

Yeah, even worse. You said the Cajuns were the best hitting team in the country, yet you played LSU twice and never saw their either of their top two starters and scored 3 runs in 18 innings.

every person for every team that plays competitive baseball plays with a chip on their shoulder. If you don't understand that, then you don't understand baseball.

He's also is not working with lsu talent. If you really believe Maineri is a better coach than robichaux you are retarded. Maineri has the best pitching coach in college and an excellent hitting coach around him. i won't claim robichaux to be a great hitting instructor but he's an awesome pitching coach. You think maineri would get the same results robichaux does at ull?
Yes, Paul Mainieri also lucked out at Notre Dame too with all the top flight talent they had in place when he got there...

I was referring more to the type of kids with something to prove, a motivation to overachieve and to grind out tough hard nosed wins and to outwork people. For example in 2007 we had one of our best teams (45-17 College Station Regional runner up) and 5 of the 9 starters were walk-ons. I have never thought of it as a little man syndrome but I can see how some do. Many posters on this site think Robe is obsessed with LSU. He's not at all. He has a lot of respect for LSU and what they have done to benefit all college baseball programs in Louisiana. He cares about his program winning not proving something to LSU.

LSU doesn't throw at batters. Didn't do it under Skip, Smoke, nor Mainieri. I suggest your pitchers keep the ball in the yard if they don't want players staring in their dugout as they round third base.

Maneiri has had 2 years where he's fielded a good offense, 2009 and 2015
LMAO WHAT!?!?

Back in the day when Bertman was retiring as LSU coach a bunch of us were at a place called The Sting here in Lafayette and Robicheaux was there also, smoking a stogie and saying he was going to be the next LSU head baseball coach...I couldn't really tell you how drunk he might have been at the time though...just sayin'.....

You can win with gritty walk-one against the Troy's and Western Kentucky's, but if you want to compete on the national level you better find a couple of Lange's, Nola's and Gausman's.

So you say he's had two good years offensively and in the same post say LSU was the best hitting team in the country in 2013. Ok

Cotton v Stony Brook in the final game. Stony Broom drags in the 8th or 9th and Cotton throws at and hits the next batter

If robichaux was at lsu they would be absolutely sick. He takes mediocre talent and elevates it. Not saying maineri isn't good but if robichaux was at lsu they would have more than one nc since 09.

He said ULL had the best offense in the country in 2013.

CPM also won a NC with two idiots as assistants. So you sound retarded.

Cajun pitchers don't throw at hitters either.
There is a ton of time spent on how to locate and use an up and in fastball to set up other pitches and make hitters uncomfortable. That's smart pitching strategy and pitchers did it for 100 years until recently when mlb umps starting running guys for throwing in. In all my years there I never heard Robe tell someone to plunk someone, or that we should throw at guys and i never heard any pitcher talking about doing it just to do it.
Heath deserved to get thrown at for pointing in dugout. I believe that to be justified. Had the roles been reversed I'm quite certain a LSU pitcher would have plunked the cajun hitter who pointed into their dugout and most fans would have approved of it.
BTW Robe didn't order that beaning.
