Was told stories about Slade Bolden today-LSU related

Was talking to a young LSU fan about the season and Slade came up.
Apparently this kid went to a neighboring high school but was very close friends, they are still in contact.
I said that I hated he didn’t come to LSU and he quickly said “he couldn’t go”
I asked for details.
He said they were hanging out and he got a call from Coach Orgeron saying his scholarship wasn’t available because of Terrance Marshall Jr.
This was before his Bama visit apparently.
Doesn’t make sense to me considering TMJ is a wideout and Slade would’ve been a multi-purpose tool.
Anybody know if there’s any validity to this?
I was told a few other stories that involve Bama and his recruitment, if anybody is interested I can post those in the comments but wanted to keep this as LSU related as possible.

our offense is antiquated. we have no use for an all purpose back. We don't even use a tight end.

That doesn’t make any sense considering we only signed 22 guys that class. 23 was for Cole Tracey. This was before we knew about Burrow or Alexander. We had 3 scholarships available when that class wrapped up. Considering this he could have been taken. 23 went to Tracey. 24 and 25 were grad transfers with Alexander, and Burrow.

Slade was one of the more overrated players in that class. He won’t be more than a practice squad player that Saban uses when they play a dual threat QB. He’ll have a longer career selling insurance in his hometown than he will anything else.

Saw him play and he regressed tremendously after his junior year.
