I'm not hurt at all. I find it laughable the people in here claiming that LSU is not a baseball school first and foremost. Secondly, I find it laughable that some would take a BCSNC over a Baseball championship.

Baseball is my favorite sport, I was fortunate to play in the old Box a couple of time in the state HS playoffs back in the olden days. However, college baseball is a minor sport and a gimmick sport at that. A BCS championship and a basketball championship dwarf 3 baseball championships...

Football has been a staple at LSU since the 1920's.

Baseball wasn't relevant in Baton Rouge until 1986.

You obviously don't know anything or are too young and short sighted.

We shouldn't even have this discussion.

He's got you on the prestige thing. LSU has been the big dog in baseball for a lot longer than they've been the big dog in football.

Football is king in BR, but on a national level, LSU has been bigger in baseball.

You realize that not everybody follows college baseball like they do college football right?

Everyone I know does. 2006-2010 never missed a home game.

A better question would be, "Other than the football championship seasons, what was best time in the history of LSU to be a student?"

Because everyone would like to be there for the Chinese Bandits or the BCSNC's of the 2000's.

when you compare the national relevancy of college football vs. baseball, it's about like NASCAR vs. Pack 321's Pinewood Derby...</hyperbole>

I think it would have been awesome to be a student during the first few Saban years as he lead us back to prominence. Before we became spoiled as a fan base and a win felt 10x better than it does now.

I get what you are saying, but you are just wrong. Football is LSU's bread and butter.

This is perfect. While LSU has dominated baseball in recent years, baseball is nowhere near as prestigious as football.

Longer, yes. Prestigious, no.

But I agree with everything else you've said.
