wonder how this will affect negotiations when it comes time to consider staying in "school" versus going "pro," agent to prospective team: "my boy has another year of eligibility and is already getting "x" from Walk Ons and Riverside Towing and this is the best you can do?"

Basically it's the wild west right now and noone knows the rules. Said stingley hit them on a local level but a national level as well with a potential heisman campaign.
Said he's been getting DMs from walk on players from around the country wanting to make something happen.
Also had MacKenzie landry on who is running the match point app that businesses are using to connect with players. Said they have had offers from $50 to $20k through the app. It's really a lot of info so kinda hard to summarize.
This was brought up as well. Russillo and Ross dellinger didn't seem to think it would be that frequent but i think we could see it a lot with guys like Juzang out of UCLA that wouldve been a second round nba pick but could make a lot of money in LA this year as a college player coming off that tourney run

Got a time that the talk begins? It’s an hour and 40 minutes long…

It's normally time stamped but they didn't do that for this episode. Minute 48 is when walk-ons Owner starts. MacKenzie Landry is before him discussing the NIL app

I would imagine it could get lots of those 3rd or 4th round picks to return for another year.

They have deadlines to declare for the draft well before any agent is having such cool negotiations with a pro team.

I’m guessing he’s only talking about baseball there because nfl and nba rookie contracts are slotted anyway so even if they could have a window to negotiate, there’s not much to negotiate. Besides baseball.

Under the new rules they can have an agent now, can’t they?

I think this will only effect the major players, when players win the Heisman as a redshirt sophomore or junior years I imagine they will finally get some massive/major contracts with the Heisman house and actually have a nationwide brand and possibly stay in for the senior and follow on years. I mean how much do the guys in NFL get for the heisman house commercials? Imagine being able to capitalize on a nation brand as a sophomore so 19-20years old. If your from Texas you will get dealership and restaurant commercials in your home town, then get the same and broader deals in the university and state you play in, then you can sign with a nation brand like Nike, Reebok, under armour.
You win the Heisman as a sophomore or senior you will want to stay home and keep building your brand against smaller competition and then when it's exhausted hit the league I would think.
But this will not effect really any player but the Heisman winner that is not a senior. I mean that's how I see it. Everyone else will not get those kind of deals or have that kind of national attention I believe they will want more then just the local sponsorship money.
I am sure I'm wrong but I am curious how the first sophomore or junior Heisman winner goes about this now.
