I'm just saying with our spread out style of offense I think we would be better served with a quicker tailback who can make cuts to an opening.
Ridley starts for a reason. He has vision, shiftiness and power.
None of our other backs give us that combination. Not Ford, not Ware, not Blue, not Murphy. Nobody.

Ummmmm, Ford gives you all of that PLUS speed. Neither of them can block worth a shite though.

Ridley has the best first cut of any LSU back since Justin Vincent in 2003.
I disagree with your assessment.
I disagree with your disagreement. Ridley is the best back we have had since JV 03.

No he doesn't. Ridley is like 20 pounds heavier than Ford. I don't know why people think they are the same because they are very different.
Ford is much lighter and has better speed.
Ridley is more powerful and also has better vision.
In fact, Ridley has the best vision of any LSU RB since Jacob Hester.

Everyone says that because we've seen Ford run over people against Bama and Ole Miss just this year. He has power but he has break away speed too which Ridley does not.

He doesn't have near the power that Ridley has. He can run over a DB. Ridley can run over a LB on the goal line and get you 6. Huge difference.
How exactly, do you think we've been scoring this year?
I'd put in 225 lb. Spencer Ware in that spot before I put in 205 lb. Mike Ford. Ware is more like Ridley than Ford is.

Ford doesn't have Ridley's vision or first cut ability

is this going to be a story line for the game that A&M is playing a hindered LSU?
Yes, because LSU usually has SEC-caliber QB play, but, for the past three years we have not.
It's not the head coach's fault, however. It's more my fault.

I don't understand what folks have seen in Ford so far in games.
Perhaps they've seen practices or watched him in HS.
He's clearly fast and strong.
However, he has nowhere near the vision, cut back ability, agility or elusiveness of Ridley. And Ridley knows his assignements and can block. If we judged backs physical specimens, Keiland would have been All American...
Really?? did u not see all the cuts he made on the long runs in the Ole Miss game??? I played against him in high school and i can assure you his vision cut back and elusiveness is better than ridleys

Wonder if this thread like the 9 others yesterday will be wacked?

you're out of your goddamn mind. Addai, Hester, and Broussard were all better.

Am I the only person that noticed the term "Academic VIOLATION" ? Bad grades etc aren't considered an academic VIOLATION.
And Ridley doesn't have Ford's big play ability. What Ridley has over Ford should be present in any Junior vs RS Freshman debate... I think it's yet another situation where we should have bit the bullet and started getting Ford reps.

Broussard had one good year and then disappeared. In that season (2004), he had 867 yards.
Addai's great year came in 2005, and he 911 yards that year.
Hester had 1103 yards in 2007.
Stevan Ridley has 1042 yards already this season, and would pass Hester with a solid bowl game performance.

Seems like you have it wrong. My claim is backed up by the stats. Yours is based on nothing but your very questionable subjective judgment.
The only one who is out of their minds is you.

PS
TDs in their respective years:
Broussard 04: 10
Addai 05: 9
Hester 07: 20
Ridley 10: 14
The only back you could make an argument for is Hester. Forget Addai and Broussard.

that's funny considering Broussard shared carries with a future NFL 1st round pick and Justin Vincent. Ridley was the 1st back this decade besides Chuck Scott in 2008 to not really rotate much.

exactly. all of those guys were splitting carries with at least one other player. Anyone who thinks Ridley is even one of the top 8 most talented LSU backs since 2000 is crazy.

Thats a good point. I think another thing that could be agreed on is that Ridley ran this year with the worst Oline and Passing attack that LSU has had in the last 10 years.

you didn't watch LSU at all in 2009 if you believe that to be true.

I should have included last year, youre right. Of course the numbers for Scott, Williams, and Ridley suffered terribly.
