This is a post I made in the Polynesian Bowl thread on the RB.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a link to a poll asking who will be the defensive MVP of the Polynesian Bowl. Two of LSU's signees are near the bottom.

Siaki and Marcel both have less than 15 votes. Marcel was overall MVP in the latest all-star game and Siaki has made the list of standout players at least twice this week. That may be with only two practices.

Lets show some gratitude for the guys who are coming to LSU to play for us.

USA Today - Who will be named Defensive MVP?

Offensive MVP - Trey Palmer is in 2nd place

I was able to refresh and vote over and over. I did 10 of the votes for both Siaki and Marcel

I'm usually not one for polls since they are normally click bait for advertising dollars.

The players in this bowl probably check the PB twitter each day to see if they are in any of the pictures for practices or events they have going on. So they should be aware of this poll.

It would be a shame if they were at the bottom of the voting being that they are now LSU Tigers and should be able to expect support from the team's fans.

When I first went to the poll one of the LSU defensive signees had one vote and the other didn't have any. The leader already had over 2,400 votes. I and someone from the RB and maybe others have put in votes for the two LSU defensive signees and Trey Palmer. It would be nice if we could all put in more votes to show our support and apprecitation.

Nice job, Ree...not sure why everyone gives you shite constantly.

When do you think we should fire O?

I just voted enough times for Ika and Marcel to put them both ahead of Demarcco Hellams (bama signee).

Certainly not after a 10 win season and a #6 finish.

Eta: Throw in a top 5 recruiting class as well.

It could help their prospect rankings, however...right? And the higher their rankings, the higher our class ranking. The higher our class ranking, the better the perception of our program is. And, the better the perception of our program is, the better the chances of more elite prospects wanting to jump aboard.

Normally I would agree with you, but LSU is locked in at that #3 spot.

It is amazing though that LSU has locked down the #3 recruiting class despite having a kicker and long snapper on that list.

ETA: I still voted for Brooks a few times. Him being that low on that list is stupid.

More points is still more points...and, as of now, we're looking at closer to #4 or #5...unless we hit on some guys we're after.

I agree with the second part...tis amazing, indeed.

If we land Lee, Sop, sign Hampton, Parker, and then get Williams, Young, Moore, Pickering for the last spot, we most likely finish 3. A&M and OU have more commits than us right now. Not sure how many they can get, but I think we make it to 3.

A tidbit about the Polynesian Bowl that includes LSU always being tied to the bowl from its inception.

Former LSU great and longtime NFL player Kevin Mawae was inducted into the PB Hall of Fame's inaugural class. The event coincided with the NFL's Pro Bowl in 2014. He is now on the selection committee for the PB Hall of Fame.

The late Junior Seau was among seven coaches and players selected to form the inaugural induction class into the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame in January.

The 12-time Pro Bowl linebacker will be inducted alongside former NFL and college standouts Kevin Mawae, Olin Kreutz, Kurt Gouveia, Jack Thompson and Herman Wedemeyer and Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo at the Jan. 23, 2014, ceremony in Hawaii, which will coincide with the NFL's Pro Bowl weekend.

Both standout centers, Kreutz (six Pro Bowls, four All-Pro designations) and Mawae (six Pro Bowls, eight All-Pro designations) played a combined 30 seasons in the NFL.

There are a lot of posts I don't reply to. Sometimes posts are so "out of left field" it's impossible to tell if someone is joking, completely off their rocker or being sarcastic.
