There is nothing wrong with being confident and trying to fire your team up. That said, it isn't all that smart to float this in the media. It wouldn't be as bad if it were a home game, but you are really risking looking completely freakin stupid if you talk smack, go on the road, and can't back it up. LSU fans know a little something about this after Rick Jean Francois' giant fail before the UF game a couple of years ago. The national media picked up his comments and ran wild with them.
Jones isn't talking about hurting anybody, so he wasn't as stupid as RJF, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if we hear Lundquist and Danielson talking this up before the game. I also wouldn't be surprised if several reporters start asking PP to comment on this between now and Saturday.
All around, it just wasn't a smart move on Jones' part. Save it for the field on Saturday. If PP destroys him, he will look like a complete tool.

Noel Devine tried a similar thing last week and.. Correct me if I'm wrong.. He had 37 yards on 16? Carries and He got "hurt", let's just hope Jones doesn't hurt his poor little finger

Mighty big words coming from Jones... He'd have more fun laying down on a hornets nest than he'll find in Tiger Stadium Saturday. Don't think this kind of stuff doesn't get around to everyone in the locker room. Kelvin is going to eat him if he comes across the middle.

Jones is only saying this so PP will want to cover him and not their best receiver Denarius Moore who has 5 TDs in 4 games. Jones has only played in 1 game against a cupcake team. Bottom line, Jones sucks and PP is the man.
