most people were probably remembering '07 when they did stomp on the eye. this was just getting hyped in the middle of the field.

That's what LSU was remembering when they saw Florida jumping near mid field.

Yeah, I didn't boo because I believe they genuinely weren't trying to disrespect us in 07, but they came a little too close to the eye last night and the LSU players let them know it. shite, except for Jordan Jefferson and maybe Helton, none of the LSU players looked intimidated in the least by the team across the field. Sorry we didn't win cause the emotion was there.

I know "most" is an inaccurate statement

Well they did it at the fricking 47 yard line. Pretty obvious they were testing us.

The eye is at the 50 and the Gators didn't get that far. Its something they do before every game, home or away, gather at the 45 yard line as a team and jump up or down.

Wrong - they were nearly centered on the field and jumped on the eye, deliberately to disrespect LSU. They did the same in 2007 - I was at both games. In 2007, they waited, in a cowardly fashion, until the LSU players had gone in the locker room.

Auburn started all of this, but Florida now makes a regular habit. The refs used to regulate it (ya'll got a penalty in 2007), but now there appears to be open season on the eye. I guess we will have to start a brawl next time, in order to end the practice once and for all.

Its not going to happen with Meyer as head coach.

Who is this Myers you speak of?

IMO they were not disrespecting, but just trying to get in their heads. I know fans seem to get their panties all in a wad over this, to me is a little silly. We get mock chomps all the time. It is football.

Florida wasn't directly on the 50, but they started at the 45 (our logo extende 10 yards from the 45 to the 45. Take 70 players and try to get them all on the 45. The team pile had many players gravitating toward midfield. However, Brandon Lafell was the first Tiger to start toward them, and he encouraged his team to follow him. I have seen the youtube videos of 2007 when they Gators were directly on midfield.

The refs were cowards for not throwing a taunting flag. In the LSU/UGA game they couldn't wait to throw a celebration flag, but when an entire team is blatantly taunting another team before the game, and not moving when several officials were trying to move them back, why not throw a flag? Cowards. I bet if LSU would have actually fought them the SEC would have made a rule preventing all teams from trying to meet at mid field during pregame. Do it in your own endzone.

Urban Meyer was very classy with his Michael Irvin-esque first down signal late in the 4th quarter. I'm actually starting to pull for Lane Kiffin.

Just curious ... what would Florida team/fan reaction be if LSU went to the Swamp and did this on their midfield ... even if at the 45 as the players extended out ... ??? I'm not being ugly but I haven't seen that question posed.

My thoughts exactly. LK I apologize publicly for thinking your the biggest prick in the SEC. Sorry LK your only second best!

From my vantage point they were on the eye and did it deliberately.

I sit in West Upper Deck, so I saw it at the game, but on the ESPN highlights, it looked like CBS gave a great close-up.

When Florida picked up the game clinching first down, Urban Meyer went by the chains to check out the spot. He saw it was a first down and gave the ole' leg kick and first down motion. All that was missing was going to a knee and making a Zoro action with the ball to complete his Michael Irvin impersonation. If a player did that on the field they would be give a penalty.

Head coaches with class don't act that way. I have alot of anger toward Saban, but I know that his Crimson Tide will never stomp on midfield in an opponents stadium, and he won't be given any taunting penalties.

Thanks c19 ... I missed that ... I was way deflated by that point ... still in TS but very deflated.

I'm still pissed that a flag wasn't thrown ... I mean after the many that were thrown for excessive celebration last week there should have been this week ... I don't like UM and I don't like TT .. maybe it's how TT is made out to be the second coming in the media. Not very nice of me to say as I don't know the kid but I just don't care for him.
