I’m not arguing with these people about the errors or non errors on Braswell today. They will see what they want to see. At least two of them were going to be infield singles regardless which is why they weren’t ruled errors. But call they can call them errors if it makes them feel better. At the end of the day the pitching for this team is horrendous and nothing else matters until that gets cleaned up. Our strength has to be a strength not the biggest weakness of the team.

Arguing that your SS leading the SEC in errors is disconnected from pitching struggles is weird to me
When your defense is giving up extra base runners and runs, it has a complete impact on the pitching staff and game flows.
It's completely interconnected.

Our pitching is terrible. They cannot hit their spots. As a high caliber baseball team your pitchers need to throw strikes and hit their spots.

I am glad that I didn't come in for the series.
I am very glad someone bought my season ticket for today off SeatGeek for $45 before fees about ten days ago.

Did we have any errors last night when Ack gave up a two run bomb and then another run in the 9th? You are going to have errors and if we were losing games strictly bc of errors then it would be a more valid point. But we continue to walk lead off batters. We continue to throw 0-2 pitches down the middle of the plate. We continue to give up two our runs. The list goes on and on

Nobody is arguing that it isn’t hurting our pitching. But we could legit play errorless baseball and the way this team is pitching you are still going to see the same result. They simply aren’t good right now.

Going straight from the fire into the frying pan! In other words, the 2nd circle of Hell. It's called baseball purgatory-- the school of Hard Knox.

Boy, I’d be glad if they could put your theory to the test at least once this year.

Well a total of zero people are saying this

Well that’s not gonna happen bc that’s baseball. Vandy had errors today that led to runs but their pitching also didn’t allow runs in every single inning. That’s kind of the point. Good pitching can overcome an error. It can overcome a lead off walk. It can overcome a lead off double.

I don’t think anyone is excusing or excluding pitching from the list of problems, nor is anyone exclusively blaming errors. It is a total team effort to get to where we are right now.

One of the biggest errors of the game was Coleman throwing an 0-2 pitch right down the heart of the plate that still hasn’t landed.

Idk I expected hitting to take a step back but on paper we were banking on a deep staff and good fielding to keep us in contention.

Right
You don’t have to disconnect errors from pitching woes to maintain there are pitching woes, along with fielding woes and on and on

Four straight conference series losses and now they're heading into play the hot Tennessee Vols in Knoxville next.

Then you should agree with my original post that said “all this talk about Braswell but if pitching doesn’t start becoming a strength then nothing else really matters.” We aren’t going to magically start putting up 13 runs a game.

Again..nobody did this but carry on

My mistake, I must’ve misunderstood what you meant by saying Jeter at short wouldn’t help our pitching

I think we pretty much suck at everything right now - although I haven't checked out our HBP numbers recently (JML?)
I only chimed in because it seemed like it was pitching or errors and you need to pick a side - that's not reality. It's both. It's symbiotic in nature. Good defense helps pitching, good pitching helps defense. That's how I see it. Separating the two seems like a foolish effort.
