That is legit good!!! Paints/weathering?

I do have that kit in the stash. I need to post my 1/35 RFM Tiger - but it will as a work in progress. Just about finished with the turret.

Great kit, lost some little parts to the carpet monster. Instructions missing a few things

Thanks! Glad you like it. Painting was super simple. Just a primer coat then Tamiya Olive Drab. On the commander’s copola, I painted the vision blocks using very thinned light blue. As for weathering, I used Tamiya Black Panel Accent followed by brown dirt Tamiya Weathering Master.

Dude you did an amazing job!!!! You need to do some sort of background with these so they look in action or in the field or whatever. They are that realistic!

I went down a bit of a rabbit hole one night on X when I realized Grok can do this.

The Skyraider and that last one (not that familiar with armor) look very real. The first would be better if the placement weren't like it is. Damn that all looks amazine!

The last one is a British Mk. III “Valentine” infantry tank. The Tommies used them in the early to mid stages of the war.

Simply incredible as always Darth.

I’vegot a B-17G kit that I wanted to see if you would be interested in doing for me to go in my man cave. I did models as a kid but don’t have the tools/time/skill to breathe life into them the way that you can.

If interested please send me an email at autimbo@aol.com.
Muchos grassy-azz.

Edit (FWIW my Pop started out as a tanker in M-48’s and later M-60’s in the Nuremburg area back in the day). ;)

I'm intrigued. Tell me more. Are the new treads fully functional like the old ones so you can push it around the desk? What material are the new treads made from?

No, they’re not functional. They come in sections that look more realistic and have the natural track sag that you’d see on a real tracked vehicle.

Boooo

As a kid my favorite part of building Tamiya models was how functional they were when you were done. Hatches that you could close. Turrets that rotated and guns that moved up and down and of course being able to drive it across my desk.

ETA they should at least give you both tread options if the wheels still spin.

Here is an M-48 I built - one that saw service in Vietnam..

The two ports on the front look very German armor like...

Yeah. A lot of the old kits from the 70s had openings in the hull so you could connect a little battery-powered motor to make your tank actually drive. I never went that far though. But, even on the new kits the turret still rotates and the gun can be elevated and depressed.

What's the death dealers thingie on the turret? I've never seen anything like that before. Some kind of radar or sensor?

Search light in both white light and IR, supposedly. Rated at 70+ million candle power.

Once again, great work! It's the little details I appreciate: the weathering, the detail work on the shovel and axe, and the excellent placement of the decals. Do you use Micro Set/Sol when you apply them on uneven surfaces?

Always amazed at the detail and weathering work that you do on these. Particularly like the dented rack/basket in the back!
