they are absolutely a cinderella team. a #3 seed from a small conference that beats the big boys and had never even been to a supers before makes it to the cws and they arent cinderella? this post is a joke right?

My thoughts exactly

So this year, in the NCAA basketball tournament, if Tennessee or Texas A&M had made the Elite Eight they would have been Cinderella?

Nice job of only sharing half of the facts to make your point. Why didn't you mention the other 9 seeds who made the tourney? Siena and Butler, I'm pretty sure either team making it to the Elite 8 would've been considered cinderella. Southern Miss has not been as successful in the past as you make them sound. They've never made it to Omaha or a Super. They are absolutely a cinderella.

Yeah, no one gave us a shot against Florida either and they got swept. I was at the games and USM seemed to be in control even when behind. You just knew they would rally.

When youre hot youre hot. In baseball that's all you need sometimes (ie Frenso St.) This team has some talented ballplayers. The only difference from the other teams in Omaha is depth of the bench and in the pen. We shall see.

I wouldn't say no one. Florida isn't really held in high regard from teams that play in the SEC, they aren't on the same level as some of the other teams in Omaha.

I'm calling bullshite, you may have had faith that your team would come back down 6-1, but definitely not "in control"

USM will either play Texas or TCU, both of which they can easily beat. Texas is the worst #1 seed ever to play in this tournament.

This article says USM continues their Cinderella run. I disagree. They've been a solid program for a while and beat a weak national seed.

Having said that, they will get killed in Omaha...

I like their chances as well against the Texas/TCU winner. If they can win that first game, anything can happen.

The fact is they were there as a top 10 team playing a team who was one of the final 3 teams in.

Well, if you've been following this team you would understand. Florida and their fans were just flat, and once our pen held them for 4 innings and we were chipping away, I felt we were in control. It was the same feeling when LSU blew through 23 straight or whatever last year.

I'm not saying we are going to win, but to discount this team would be silly. Oregon St and Fresno came from nowhere. It could happen. It'll be fun.

that means that there are 8 teams predicted to get there before them

A third seed among 16 regionals means there are 32 teams seeded ahead. Best case, they are 33 ranked team. Word case, they are ranked 48.

If you are ranked 33-48 in basketball tourney, you may be called a Cinderella. esp. when you beat the top seed in your group.
