If Stanford doesn't win, after that score the game could have just as easily entered an unrecoverable tailspin. To think the announcement didn't have an impact on the game is foolish, but keep believing.

Lets review for all those making the argument that Urban has not won in Tiger Stadium.

Urban says, "That place quiets down real fast when you get on em early..."
quote:

How does he know??

I think you answered your own question:
quote:

Granted in '07 they were ahead for quite a while,

No Urban hasn't one a game in TS, and hopefully never will... but he has had a lead early in a game. To say he doesn't what the crowd sounds like when you jump out to an early lead is retarded. This is universal, all stadiums/ fans do this, but thankfully you play four quarters not two.

What I got out of that quote is the CUM is really confident about his team this year. So he doesn't mid throwing out a few bulletin board quotes.

I just hope the Tiger players and LSU fans are able to throw them back in his face after a win.

Tebow has never played in a offense like that. I think it's going to backfire!!
It will, he's too slow to dropback fast enough to get tha ball off, speed rushers and blitzers will feast on that if that is true. Meyer will change back to a spread fast, what he may try and do is kind of a mix where he has Tebow try some dropbacks when they are up comfortably on a team of course.

to think the score of a west coast game was a contributing factor to LSU winning is beyond foolish. Im sure the OL and Hester got those first downs b/c Stanford beat USC. Im sure Tebow threw that INT off the TE's helmet because fans were excited because USC won.

F**k our fanbase is a joke sometimes and uber negative

Great, I get it ya got me, the scored after the announcement. But do you honestly believe that playing for the number one ranking didn't give the players and fans additional motivation? I think this is what you missed in my "repeating what I already said," so I hope this rephrasing helps you.

Boomhauer- you know they were already ranked #1 in one poll correct? AP I think

eta: Fans think they matter too much frankly. This program had it's greatest comeback ever last year, granted vs Troy, with a 3/4 empty stadium. Was the deafening silence the reason Troy folded or LSU came back? just saying

he doesn't have much to worry about. the gators will be up by at least 10 at half time, and the stadium will sound like a funeral as the tigers take another UF style arse kicking

We were down by 10 at the half in 2007. What was the final score?

Yeah that is completely acceptable.

I don't see how this could be bulletin board material for the players. Hell, print out what Urban said on pamphlets and hand them out at the gates to the fans.

Seriously, though. The swamp got real quiet last year when we made it 20-13. Every UF fan near us were sitting on their hands except one who kept screaming and at us.

Huh? You stated the 07 team was "playing to be ranked No 1" after USC lost to Stanford when LSU was already ranked #1 in one of the polls before the UF game. What does 03 have to do with anything?

Urban, Road, and SFP are correct..

Tigerstadium isn't what it once was in noise, especially in terms of sustained noise..not even close to former standards.

Auburn and Florida are much better day game crowds, maybe also Tenn and/or Bama for big day games.

Florida may also be better than LSU by night, if sustained noise rather than highest crescendo hit be the bulk of the grade.

Tigerstadium can still bring it, if at night and/or a close bigtime game..but as a whole is much lazier than the Tigerstadium of my childhood in the seventies and eighties.

That's a joke of a statement and joke of a fact. I don't mind seeing either again in the future.
