That's why I laugh at star chasers.

outside of CEH and the linebackers collectively, he's the single biggest loss for next year's team, followed closely by S. Charles; I think they both make it in the league, and I think Charles will end up being a pro bowl guard

Over the years of watching recruiting, I've learned that those internet nerds really are nothing more than coach watchers. The number of stars is a function of coaching interest; the number of stars does not drive coaching interest.

These recruiting nerds don't analyze players and identify talent; they just follow what the coaches are already doing and then adjust their star systems accordingly. The more coaches that want a player, the internet nerds rank them up. If coaches don't, the internet nerds rank them down. Basically, the star system doesn't drive coaches to recruit a player; it reflects the number of coaches who are already recruiting a player. Coaches don't pay attention to the number of stars a player has. If a coach spots talent, they'll go after them. Great for LSU that they were able to get Cushenberry when many other coaches weren't pursuing him as hard. The other coaches screwed up.

All that being said I don't think these guys have 0 eye for talent. Sometimes they get it wrong.

It's not surprising that elite coaches will know better but that doesn't mean they add no value in the evaluation process.

The past 2 years going to the seasons the biggest looming question was capability of Offensive Line. Suspensions, injuries, etc. has seen a revolving OL personnel group.

James Cregg has been massive in cohesively keeping this OL solid. Can't lose Coach Cregg

Cush is the biggest loss of our early entrees to the NFL. He deserves to get paid, but we will miss him. Charles is next biggest loss.
