I’m sure you guys probably already went over this and may have the best already. But I know from personal experience that getting a second opinion from another great doctor would not hurt.
Drew’s Pediatric Cardiologist is at Texas Children’s in Houston.

There is nothing stronger than a father's love for his son. It is indescribable and can only be truly understood upon becoming a father. May God heal Matt's son and show Matt and his son just how much he also loves his sons as a father in heaven.

Reading that makes me sick. Prayers to drew and his parents. It takes strength and prayer to persevere through this. I’m gonna go hug my kids now.

Sconeman, if you’re reading this, prayers for you and your little man. Having two young men of my own, I can imagine the pain you’re feeling. Hoping for his continued growth and health and for a successful procedure when/if that day comes.

Matt is a dedicated father first and foremost. That takes a lot to be positive and proactive when you have such a weight on you. Prayers for God to strengthen their whole family and heal them

Say what you want about Moscona as a radio personality (I like him but I get that others don’t), but he is a good dude. I got to meet him a couple times and he is always personable and enjoyable.
I agree, he knows that he is more marketable by being somewhat of a contrarian on air, and he plays that role well.
But off air he is a good dude, I don't know him personally but have a few friends that do. I wish him and his wife well and pray for Drew.

Matt's a good dude. Sucks that he or anyone has to deal with congenital disease. It's the epitome of starting life out with one hand behind your back even though everyone involved is free from fault.

I'm sure they went to Baton Rouge then New Orleans and said either need to go to St. Jude's or TX Childrens.

Who in the hell downvotes this? To all that downvoted I hope you have the shits all weekend you heartless people!
I truly feel sorry for people who feel the need to put a negative slant on such a personal issue like this. I so appreciate my healthy family but respect the way people like Matt and his family deal with these issues.
All the best to little Drew. He is an inspiration to us all.
As to the downvoters, I will pray for you as well.

Know what he's going through.
My child had surgery at Boston Children's at 2 months. They could not do her surgery in New Orleans, too complicated. No heart surgeries for children are done in Baton Rouge.
She is 13 now but will need a valve replacement as well and we've been playing that waiting game for awhile now. You just hope and pray they don't get too sick before anything has to be done.
If they can live with it, they do wait until symptons occur before performing another open heart surgery. It's usually not as simple as just replacing the valve. There are a lot of other issues anytime you open the heart from pressures in ventricles to how it impacts the flow of blood anytime you change something.
I've learned to accept what the doctors tell you and know that there are a lot of factors to consider everytime we return to Boston for checkups which is at least once a year. The only good thing is that we've turned some of those trips into some memorable family vacations to get rid of the stress involved with it.
