I’ll play devil’s advocate. Why not all three? We cast plenty of blame on Chavis when he was here and after he left for his poor recruiting on the line, along with Brick Haley and Miles
I think To an extent they do all share blame
I think It’s kinda understood Arandanis the X’s and Os and helps up in recruiting but O and the position coaches do the heavy lifting. And that limits aranda. Players like him but he isn’t the primary guy and that is an knock on him. If he was HC he would need dynamic recruiters under him. (FWIW he’s been good coming in and helping close out some guys, I think He’s be good in living rooms as a HC in the future)
But someone was saying Aranda is the #1 DL recruiter and that makes no sense.

To my understanding Aranda doesn’t do a ton recruiting compared to the rest of the staff. I think that’s probably the biggest knock he has as a coach and may have something to do with why you don’t hear a whole lot in regards to him being looked at for head coaching openings. You always hear plenty about NFL DC gigs though and A&M last off-season. He has always struck me as a guy who is a great at Xs and Os but delegates the salesmanship to others. Which is fine if it works, but I think when it doesn’t and you’re ultimately responsible for the defense, one would have to say he at least shoulders some blame, along with Orgeron and guys assigned to recruit these players

I agree, and I think that’s sorta O and a aranda’s understanding. But I think When he’s been called to go in and talk to players he’s done a good job impressing them. No recruit has said anything but amazing things about him.
This is just what O makes his living doing.

Lets not forget Aranda wanted meatball on the staff just as much as coach o did. Aranda has the power to hire another coach like he did with Busch

There is no depth problem along the Dline
And you didn't tell me to frick off. That was another poster. Though I'm sure you wish I would.

What’s does O do?
Like what’s his job anymore?
Defensive X’s and O’s- Aranda
Defensive Recruiting Aranda
Staff decisions Aranda

If you don’t have talent you don’t have depth.
If you can’t sub a player because the guy behind him is a liability than you don’t have depth. There were games thisnuear where we played 4 DL total. That’s insane

LSU has depth. They just never play because they aren't that good. That's why you haven't seen a true DL rotation in years. LSU lacks quality depth. All these 3 stars are going to fix that though lol.

How many 3* DL are there?

Time is a finite resource. Aranda's time is best served with instruction and game preparation. There are plenty of coaches that, well let's say that their contributions to strategy are not as vital as Aranda's. They focus on recruiting.
I have no reason to believe he isn't a capable recruiter or wouldn't be one if he were a HC. He's an x's and o's guy first and foremost though.

On the 2020 roster?
7 out of the 10 DL are 3*
If Logan leaves it will be 7 out if 9.

I love the idea that 3stars can't contribute at a high level. Totally ignorant take.

"Soft rebuild".
LSU could be replacing 8-9 starters on defense and breaking in a new quarterback in 2020.
