You think the Miss St coach is too stupid to recognize how weak LSUs secondary is?

Just because he only threw the ball 17 times against Arizona doesn’t mean he’s going to do the same against a weak LSU secondary.

I won’t be surprised at all if Rogers and Miss St comes out slinging the ball all over the field. They know LSUs weakness and they will definitely test that secondary.

Like someone else posted, Mike Leach isn't running the offense over there anymore.

And his passing offenses were never about great talent, it was running his special blend. I don't recall any of his former teams continuing to put numbers up in the air after he left.
Will Rogers doesn't scare me, and neither do State's receivers.

This LSU team needed the live action practices against Grambling. They're going to be fine.

tackle we wouldn’t be so bad. Thing is those are rarely ever fixed during the season

This is a pretty terrible take, its widely accepted that tackling improves steadily throughout the season with more live reps and players becoming more accustomed to the speed of the game

Rogers three 17 passes last week.

people are down voting you because you’re a moron.

Miss State couldn’t put up 50 on Southeastern.

Will Rogers threw 17 passes last week. Their passing O is in the hundreds.

Just a really uninformed take.

You’re getting downvoted because you obviously know nothing about THIS YEAR’S State team. You just pulled a thread out of your butt with no research. Yes, LSU’s defense will still have to play well, duh, but this isn’t a Mike Leach air raid attack anymore. If you actually watched them play you’d know that.

I never said they were a passing or running team. It wont matter. Obviously you have no clue on proper evaluation on the lsu defense like many of you have obviously overlooked. Our D is "terrible". If something doesnt change fast, lsu has losing record this year.

And what is your proper evaluation of a run first ball control Mississippi State offense?

these people making fun of the OP. Our defense blows
facts. They all need hugs. They are in serious denial. The fact they all state that moo state is a running team evidently means lsu has it in the bag according to so many morons here. Most idiots in 1 post right here.

I've watched them for years. They often play us tough in Starkville.

you havent watched our defense. Our dbs are still at the houston burn medical center and our front 7 all have shiny brand new skates it seemed the last 2 games and u say we dont need to score 50? Moo state is gonna hurt lsu and pretty much the sec west will do the same to us. I expected better on defense this year. Big let down.

Ok, now do MSU and what they've done to date.

If you think LSU will need to score 50+ to win, we can't take you serious.

What can they change? We don't have the studs this year to play in the secondary.
We will have to compensate in other areas

It would be more instructive to look at what Kevin Barbay did at his previous stops.

Season Run/Pass

CMU 2019: 53/47
CMU 2020: Covid Season
CMU 2021: 54/46
AppSt 2022: 58/42

2023:

vs. SELA: 58/42
vs. UAz: 70/30

Barbay doesn't typically run an offense as off balance as what he did against Arizona. I don't expect more of the same unless they are running rough shod over the defense. Rogers hasn't thrown a ton, but he's been efficient when he has, and he's protected the ball (0 ints). I don't know why they refused to give him the ball on multiple 3rd and 5ish situations and when Arizona was stacking the box. That won't fly on Saturday. I also don't know what he's capable of in a new offense. If his performance thus far can be extrapolated into more attempts, he could be very dangerous.

No, I don't think it will take 50 points to beat MS State. Barring a complete collapse by either, I don't expect either team to score that much.
