hmmm... sure. spring practice included.
Ok. I'm Les Miles.
I see that JL has improved his understanding of the routes. We've worked with him through spring (cause that's what practice is all about) about looking off defenders. Seems to understand A LOT more than he did a year ago.
I see that JJ is becoming a very capable passer. He's learned a lot more of the playbook. His speed makes me willing to use him for more option type plays.
So maybe my decision isn't as cut and dry as you think.

so who would you pick?

Miles has said since early last year that LSU needed to show other teams that we can throw the ball downfield.
Comments like "Lee is the most improved of all the players", "Lee is throwing the ball better than JJ", "Lee is making all the throws", etc. will impact Miles' view of which QB can accomplish that stated goal.
That is what I gather that most people who are defending Lee are trying to say.

I guess it's a performance decision. Maybe I would consider the 2 QB system I had with RP/MF.
Crowton seems to have a good set of plays for that type of system.
If I'm not Les Miles and I was a poster on TD.com making all kinds of wild conclusions based off of 2 games, then I would say JJ. Then again, I would probably be an idiot.

No shite Lee is throwing the ball better than JJ. You haven't heard? Somehow throwing a pretty pass to the other team gives you a step on the guy that's pass isn't as pretty but goes to the right team. Again, we won't know shite about Lee until he as a REAL rush against him. He looked very timid in the pocket last year.

last years performace doesnt count, but last years expectations are what get most coaches fired! So yeah, what he hopes for last year, will carry over to this year.

if I'm the head coach I use lee to push jefferson to be a better QB, because I sure as hell ain't losing my 4 million dollar job because i'm going to get burned by the pick-6 guru.
6 straight games in a row he threw at least ONE pick six.
and in the ole miss game he threw it right into the hands of the DB going the other way.
with lee - fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
I know now that lee doesn't have the leadership quality that jefferson does.
there's no way I would risk my job starting lee, losing the fanbase, and potentially losing my job when he chokes again.

I wouldn't put it in those words but if my job is on the line RIGHT NOW JJ is going in. Like I said, come October who knows, I wouldn't be willing to risk my job right now though.

especially when the team that you coach wants him to be the QB.

very good points....I believe Jefferson deserves to continue being the starting QB unless he gets hurt or routinely starts throwing pics

i've read this now about 6 times, and I still don't know what you are talking about or who you are referring to?

hey old man, here's a tip:
1. if youre going to refer to byrd in a post, at least mention his name.
2. don't post it to me, as if I give a frick about what your crazy senile arse has to say

Lee should get to play every game. I think he'd be a great option as holder for all of the point after kicks. Maybe even a couple of fakes. That way if he trows a pick it will only be 2 points.
