it blows my mind the lack of reading comprehension you have.

STFU already and look forward to Saturday like most LSU fans instead of constantly bitching about a player that isn't even playing.

You come out calling Lowery an a-hole. My question was clear; Do you know him or are you just going along with the crowd and calling him names because he represents a side/view different from your own. And as for the eat your nuts? are you hitting on me? Your boyfriend probably wouldn't appreciate that. Now run along with your homo erotic fantasies.

Hold on... do you know him?

And I think everyone agrees that he is an a-hole, except for you.

His ex has placed a restraining order on him for stalking her and breaking into her house. But yea, I guess I forgot that he should be considered a hero because he went to boot camp.

Not to you Philosoraptor.

I hear everyone talking about ti being a distraction for the team etc. They are 18-22 yr olds I highly doubt that any of this affects them like everyone thinks.

Also I tend to think if team could vote to reinstate JJ they would. And it has nothing to do with him being the starting QB. I imagine most of his teamates wish he could be on the sidelines including JL.

Listen, my biggest issue with the possible reinstatement of JJ is this. As he is going through the legal process, he will no doubt have several meetings with his attorney, with the DA, with a judge, etc. etc. All of this meetings during the judicial process will most certainly take time away from his preparation. So he will be in no mental state of mind to play. But if he is reinstated (even if he doesn't start) he will be taking practice reps away from players that may need those reps (not no saying in place of JL or ZM). Also, the fact that he might be there for some practices, might not be there for others can create a big distraction for the other players, all of whom also want to have a great season. So by saying that Miles needs to take care of JJ (I know those weren't your exact words), you are basically saying that JJ's desire to be with teammates should be more important to Miles than the wants and desires of the other 100 or so members of the team. Miles' job is to do what is in the best interest of the team...not one individual player.
Best post evaaaaar
Jefferson won't have to miss any practices until this thing goes to trial (and maybe not even for trial), and if it goes to trial, it probably won't be until the season is over.

Most legal proceedings do not require a party to attend. Jefferson can skip all of the meetings with the DA. It's not like Unglesby needs Jefferson at a meeting with the DA, or the administration, or the coaches.

If the DA really needs to meet with Jefferson, the DA will schedule it at a mutually convenient time. That's what DAs and attorneys do.

Miles named lee the stater period! Miles has enough to think about without this lawyer adding to the pile. More distractions!

It's been my contention all along that even if convicted, a season long suspension is too much.

That's my feeling, too. Let him miss UO and NWSU and deal with the legal ramifications. Missing the UO game is a big deal.

aren't you one of the legal types around here? what's Unglesby's strategy with this request for the suspension being lifted? (besides the obvious of actually getting him reinstated). seems likely that Les/ LSU would say no, and the publicity of it all would appear to be another distraction to the team.

I think Unglesby knows he will say no, but that will put pressure on the D.A. to resolve the case quicker. The D.A. has stated he is sending it to a Grand Jury. That means that they probably won't even be arraigned until after the season is over. Unglesby can argue that the D.A. should bill them quickly with simple and take a no contest plea with restitution or their careers at LSU are effectively over.

Legal question:

Can you travel to another state if you are charged with a felony?

Is that legal?

As a person who was born and raised in Baton Rouge and elected not to go along with the brain drain, I can't say he's too far off, either. Maybe we don't have the cross-burning klan anymore, but I know many closet racists from this town.

I'm no lawyer, but I think that's a specific condition of the bail that CAN be set. He may have to ask for special permission, which would almost certainly be granted as it is not a flight risk.
