No, the UMP made it look easy by readily giving him the low/outside called strike on several first pitches... which would have been accecptable had that call be consistent, which it never was

Actually, Jungmann made it look very easy. 122 pitches and still looked like he had juice in the 9th. So no credit to him then??? It was all blue?

If you really want to bitch about a call, bitch about the leaving the bag early bullshite. Yeah, maybe he left the bag a millisecond or two early, but when the hell was the last time you saw that shite called?

I think homeplate umpire's strike zone was equally shitty for both teams. However I think we got jobbed on a couple of check swing calls. Wouldn't have made a difference tho.

Yes he did! Good for him, no ill will from me for that...

Yes... I gave the kid credit.. and his frickin pitch count was lowered BECAUSE he was getting the low/outside called first strike!! If that pitch had been called the ball it was, and our batters weren't sent chasing shite that was low/outside for fear of those pitches getting the called strike... he would have had a higher pitch count, don't you think??

Exactly what some people said earlier, if a pitcher hits his spots he will consistently get calls from an umpire. The two ways to combat this are to hit the ball and to force the pitcher to elevate his pitch count and go deep in counts. For Jungmann to throw 122 pitches in 9 innings yielding only 4 hits I'd say LSU did a poor job of either. Give the kid some credit, that was as good of a pitching performance as you will see in college baseball. With our starter wild last night a bit it's not hard to see why a couple inches here or there get added to a zone for a pitcher who is consistent like Jungmann was. I'd be a bit tight with a zone for a kid throwing all over the place like Ross was too.

So I'm watching the game last night with some of my buddies @ a local watering hole here in Las Vegas. None of us has a dog in the fight, so we just wanted to see a good game. We were all quite impressed with the Texas pitcher, but I told them about this "Tigerdroppings" board and what would inevitably be posted. I shared with them my prior experiences of browsing your board after a loss (football, basketball, baseball, tiddly winks - it doesn't matter) and that there would be a ton of messages blaming the ump (in this case) for the loss. And, as always, you all came thru with flying colors and didn't let me down. I hope you don't mind me sharing this website with my buds so they could experience first hand what a sore loser sounds like.

It was called the last time a guy left the bag to early. It was alot more than a milisecond it was kind of obvious.
