I really do think they have a shot at being a top 25 team this year

This might be the funniest post in the entire thread. It's not even funny how far ULL is from garnering even one single top 25 vote. After the last two games, I'm going to have to agree that Nicholls State is better than ULL at this point in time.

Look out LSU!

ULL stayed within 2 points of an extremely talented Sam Houston State (3-5 before tonight's game).

This is absolutely a moral victory for our friends in Lafayette. A very close "out of conference" loss like tonight to Southland Conference (very very deep this year) foe in the Cajundome, will really help the Cajuns get the nod over other NCAA At-Large bubble teams in March.

Cajun fans should be nervous that ULL might be looking past LSU (12/31) to their monster match-up against the University of Denver (1/3).

At least the ULL Cajuns rocked the UL Warhawks earlier this month. UL will have a chance to get revenge in Monroe on 2/12/09.

Gotta love the ULL smack! Rack em...

Bottomline: The only chance ULL has at going dancing is if they win the Sun Belt Conference tournament. I'm not saying it's impossible, but they obviously have no shot at grabbing an at-large bid with some of these horrible out of conference losses.

They probably won't even play their starters in the tournament.

Hell, they will still win the conference tourney regardless!

Aren't the Cajuns pretty close to cracking the Top 25? Seriously, I think the post about them being a top 25 caliber team should be nominated for post of the year. dallaslsufan is avoiding this thread like the plague, he's been on here numerous times in the last couple of weeks since creating this masterpiece.

Their top scorer has missed the last 2 games, also. Don't know if he will be back for LSU. Shouldn't matter.

just as a comparison update Nicholls has since lost to Moo St 74-68.

They have played well but dont play any D whatsoever and dont rebound for shite.

I am not avoiding this thread at all. I just don't really care about the 8 pages of ULL bashing. I am actually an ex-LSU player. I always pull for LSU first, state of Louisiana second. ULL has played horrible D along with horrible rebounding the last few weeks. Once all of their players are healthy and they play to their potential I believe they are going to be a tourney team this year. I love how you guys are so vocal, yet I would say less than .001% of you guys have ever played high school basketball or football much less college.

LSU fans are some of the most obnoxious fans in the country, yet some of the best at the same time. There are always bad apples in the bunch no matter where you go. When I played, there were multiple games where the game had to be stopped due to dumb drunks in the stands throwing crap on the court. I also remember many times when they were literally the 6th man on the court and helped us win the ball game.

You guys turn on the Tigers at the drop of a hat if things don't go their way...You turn on players, coaches, ball boys, etc...A bunch of bandwagon jumpers.

Now I understand that all of you big time couch potatoes on here probably know better than big time LSU coach Trent Johnson, but...Here is his assessment of ULL:

"(UL) is probably as impressive of a team being 4-7 as you want to see," said Johnson, who previously coached at Stanford. "They are very long, very athletic and have a very talented team. It's just a matter of time before, in my opinion, they start hitting on all cylinders.

"I've been watching a lot of video tape. I was very impressed."

"It's been my experience with teams like this that sooner or later they are going to start hitting on all cylinders," he said. "They've got some high-caliber players. If we don't come out with the same mental approach, don't defend with a sense of urgency, don't rebound the basketball, take care of it and don't mature ... we will be in trouble."

While watching LSU win on saturday against Wash St. I'm pretty sure it was well documented that LSU is the #1 rebounding team in the nation. Correct me if I am wrong...
