Size really? He disproved ur size theory all year. They have all gave him praise as a true corner. Rivals rated him as the #1 corner. Comon man. Jabari Greer is no bigger than him and he is doing damn well.

How did he disprove the size theory all year? He never went up against a WR on throws for more than 20 yards...5'11 is fairly short for a corner..he has not proved yet he can stop the pass 1 on 1.......rivals rated him as the # 1 corner where? as a freshmen and as a db yes....

He could be the guy but I dont see chavis changing his roll as effective as he was in 2010 or anyone for that matter as a freshmen

Mo claiborne is our best true cornerback

Ty Mat needs to be at nickel. He gets exposed on deep/fade routes and when we have Mo and Simon to play corner there is no need to put Ty Mat on the outside.

Seriously why change his role from last year when you can have Mo clai and simon on one side....Wr's will have alot of trouble with simon...6'4 and can run with any of them.

By the way greer was even taller than ty mat

Think about it whats a better situation...mo clai and ty mat at corner and simon on the bench or mo clai and simon at corner and ty mat doing what he does best. Having Ty matt, simon, claiborne, loston, anthony johnson, on the field at the same time is a scary thing...all hard hitters

Considering that everyone is saying the same thing, except you, maybe you need to sit back a minute and consider your postion again.

He played nickle back most of the year. He wasn't matched up one on one consistently all year long.

Mathieu is a great player and had a phenominal year at nickle back. He will likley be a really good cornerback as the years go on. All things being equal though, 1) why move him from the postion he is so good at and 2) why was Simon playing CB instead of Mathieu in the final games of the season if the coaches didn't like him there better?
Let's just have faith in Cooper and Chavis to put them in the best postion for the team.

Dont get me wrong though, he has became one of my favorite players on the team... He is only going to get better too...I love the energy that the team feeds off of him....hes a stud at nickel package and special teams...just makes more sense to have simon out there...especially when a team will go deep on him and try to take advantage of that...on a good day he is 5'10...simon is at 6'5...that will disrupt alot of WR's

Most NFL CB's are less than 6 feet and almost always shorter than the men they cover.

Other teams might have stayed away from Peterson( I still see him as a safety by the way), but they might have been worse off going to Mathieu's side. In my opinion, he is a better player than Peterson even if his size does not project at the next level. One post referred to him as the Little Ball of Hate; I liked that.

I love this guy...I trust Chavis will make the right decision for the team. I like him in the nickel and think Simon will start at cb this season. I do expect TM to be the starting corner before he leaves LSU though.

To answer your first question....you will not be moving him from nickel unless we are in our base 4-3...u never take ur best playmaker off the field. Ur second question I guarantee everytime Simon was on the field so was mathieu...in nickel u move him in and let Simon play outside.

PP7 was a huge reason for the success of the entire defense...... BUT if you look back over the majority of the plays made by Tyrann Mathieu throughout the year they were "hustle plays". He made a ton of plays where he just out worked the guy he was going against. He went after the ball with a vengence once it was on the ground, too. No matter who else is on the field, he who hustles the most, makes the plays.

You have nothing to back up best cover corner so you really get no credibility..Their wasnt one play this year that Ty mat went 1 on 1 with a WR and showed that he is a shut down corner...

Your theory is his have mo claiborne and ty mat at corner and sit out Tharold simon for 4 years? only to come in when people are tired or injured...not happening
