Tyrann Mathieu is a superstar

Guy might be the best defensive player ever for LSU.
He's likely going to be 1st team All American, they just have to figure out what position he plays.
I hate to say it, but he sorta looks like he's playing the infamous DROP LINEBACKER position that Lou Tepper always dreamed about. He comes off the corner more than our linebackers do, and he's still able to disrupt the passing game too

He does what he wants, when he wants. It's beautiful.

Is he draft eligible after this year?
Posted on 9/24/11 at 11:27 pm to Scoob
He certainly is one of the BEST playmakers I have ever seen
the strip/fumble recovery will get less play that the INT but was just as beautiful

he's not perfect. he lacks a little in pass coverage. i just hope this notariaty doesn't go to his head. but, he's damn fun to watch and he is a playmaker.

This kid just has no business being anywhere near as good as he is. Out of curiousity, what was he rated coming out of high school?
The way he creates turnovers is unbelievable. I mean, I don't even think you can gameplan against him. Who would worry about a 5'8" guy tipping a pass at the line, much less picking it off?
And he must have the best hands since Sugar Ray Leonard (a boxer for you young guys). He just literally takes the ball away on those fumbles, it isn't just a lucky impact.

I seem to remember him kind of coming out of no where
ppl were like who when it was announced
blew up at a camp or something and LSU offered

He wasn't even in the Rivals system until LSU accepted his commitment, I don't think.
Mo Claiborne either.

I put this on recruiting board, but Rivals has him at a 4. link below
Hey I was curious to see what Mathieu's rating was since Ive heard people say two or three stars. I pulled up rivals.com and saw that he was a four star.
Here is the link. T Mathieu
I call bullshite on the 4 stars, just look at the other offers. Would it surprise you to see rivals or any recruiting site change ratings after a player develops into something special?

that was a hell of a pick, if not a corner he will probably turn into a hell of a free saftey in the nfl with his nose for the ball and playmaking ability id give him the freedom to do what he wants at the next level
