There's really only a couple of living men in which a claim like that can be made. Matthieu is not one of them.

Im surprised you didnt get a couple people agreeing on here because some posters on here worship the ground that Mathieu walks on

It's not close, and if I had to pick one non-QB player to start a team with, it would be hard not to choose Peterson who I consider the best overall athlete in the league along with megatron. Peterson can effect the game at all three phases O, D and ST.

Only argument against him would be Megatron, a dominant DE or a dominant blind side OT.

Mathieu is playing better than I though though. Hope he fully recovers from the injury... I haven't kept up since he is in AZ.

I fully appreciate your point of view on PP's "True Position" but I propose that as long as he is not in a weak secondary to begin with then all that we should have to do is look at what he allowed Chevis to do when he totally locked down the opponent's best receiver at the cb position.

His presence was felt big time on many levels. IMO, the biggest advantage to having him at cb i college was that Chavis could be muh more aggressive in his play calling... and Chavis did a great job of using PP and the other good DBs.

Now in Arizona he might be better in the safety spot but I still don't think so. The advantage of having a dominant secondary like LSU enjoyed isn't quite there but the advantages that PP brings to the table by wrapping up the opponent's best receiving threat is still huge.

When you have a guy that can lock down any receiver in the nation when he is on his game is huge at any level.

But that's just it my good man!!! He does have great NFL quality change of direction! He is that kind of freak player.

Before I go any further, allow me to mention a certain Seahawk CB that loves the sound of his own voice and happens to be an inch taller than PP7. We both know that he is said to have good cover skills.

Still though, I don't think that we are disagreeing here. They are both capable of playing multiple positions in the back seven but this is a CB issue alone. I guess that the only way to really answer this is to ask ourselves who would we want to cover the best WRs in the NFL? Julio and the gang would get the best of the HB mainly because of their size and PP7 coud bump them effectively while TM wouldn't be able to nearly as well or as often. Tyrann would still make some plays but Patrick would shut down those top receivers when he is having his good days barring awesome passing from their QBs. Since the Cards won't be rotating PP and TM on the island anytime soon, I am going to have to give the nod to the guy that makes his pro bowl living on that island.


PP7 wins without a doubt even though the HB will have an awesome career and could end up right next to him in the hall of fame since the two are brothers from other mothers.
