The correlation IS direct. You ever run a marathon? Triathlon? (I have, and still do) One's speed and strength (athleticism) diminishes, as fatigue sets in. The clock.....keeps ticking at the same rate.
Right. Fatigue hinders typical performance...just like injuries do. So, a static skill (speed, strength) gets lessened based on fatigue. That sounds A LOT like an injury.
Furthermore, TT's players aren't more conditioned. No reasonable person believes this. TT is trying to gain a natural advantage that comes with playing offense vs. defense.
I"m not trying to equate injury with fatigue. They are different. I'm using it to point out how dumb it is to equate fatigue with speed or size/strength.

You're making my point, my friend. And the guy who lays down on the field to gain an unfair advantage (because he is tired) is cheating the rules of the game. Any way you slice it.
Guess it's the difference between seeing the game as a 60 minute contest....vs. a series of individual plays.
I'm not making your point. You just aren't keeping up.
There are many differences. One difference is that one party in the game is trying to force the other team to play with players it prefers to not have on the field. The other team is not trying to do that. A team who is bigger and stronger than the other team is simply trying to win by being bigger and stronger. You can play whatever 11 players you want whenever you want. A team who is faster than the other team is similarly forcing you to deal with their speed with whatever personnel you want to. The "fatigue" approach is different because it also requires the prevention of substitutions.
Fatigue isn't new to football. It's been around forever. What's new is that teams are trying to prevent those players from being substituted. That brings in the other issue of preventing minor injuries from being substituted. High tempo with the intent of forcing your opponent to sub and go deeper to his bench fits very well with how the game has historically been played. High tempo with the intent of preventing substitutions does not.
The "fake" injury is just a reaction to that. I put quotes around "fake" because it's not that there is no injury the large majority of the time. It's just that the injuries where players would have previously hobbled off the field must now be handled in a different way. The player must hit the ground to ensure that the opposing team won't quick snap them.
In a typical game, you see cramps several times. You see twisted ankles several times. You see a leg being banged up a few times. Stingers. Minor head injuries. Traditionally, it was no big deal. Either the player left the field...or walked it off before the next play. Against TT, the only option is to hit the ground and cause as stoppage.
The short of it is pretty obvious and has been pointed out here. TT's goal is to try and compete with teams who they otherwise could not compete with.

Who "allowed" this? Are you suggesting there was some sort of collusion amongst the officiating crew to allow cheating? Why? What's being done about this?

He's suggesting that the officials called the game very loosely because of how outmatched TT was.

You understand that when you quote something, it's understood. You don't have to continue to put it in italics.

Well here's the Obligatory "gimmick" labeling of any offense other than LSU's
ya...because in 1950 ( LSU current offense), today's offenses would be considered a gimmick.
Someone on this site called Georgia Tech's offense gimmicky a few weeks ago. Can you believe that?

Jeezus this guy is still at it.
To answer this, Division opponents prepare for LSU and Alabama months ahead ... Every year. It's not debatable. Coaches acknowledge it. Your team(like most) is an afterthought for OOC coaches until game week.
I do concede that was a stupid comment he made because Hogs have made us their bitches twice now. And I brought my kids to this year's debacle

A fast past with more plays will obviously lead to more points and yards.
Pretty much the point on the offensive side of the ball.....isn't it?

No.
