All year long tRant was complaining about how much the staff makes without results, telling Alleva to shut the flow of money.

and now tRant is complaining about Alleva following the demands and closing the purse strings?

What do you people want? Besides to complain?

I don't think most people said close the flow of money. Most wanted the coaches to actually live up to what we were paying them. Im fine with paying out the arse for a coach as long as results are there.

Chief's results were there. Alleva should have paid him and we wouldn't be in this mess.

Popular opinion on here was that 1.7 million was way too much for a coordinator. We could let him go and get one for much cheaper.

We do that, and now they want to pay the new guy 1.7 without even coaching a practice because that "Is the market value for them now."

People were bitching that we paid the most of all schools yet our record was 8-5

Not that we paid a lot of money.

If only there was a way to put magildachunks and beefense on a rocket and fire that rocket into the sun. These two guys combined with the sky is falling negatards are making this place awful.

I think very few wanted to "cut off the flow" of money. Most of us wanted the results on the field to reflect that of the highest paid coaching staff.

No one's saying we should pay the 'new guy' 1.7 Mill, what were saying is that we should go out and get a guy who's worth that amount.

Name one DC worth that amount.

Don't say Chavis, because he's not.

I think the complaint was "wtf are we paying them that much for".

I don't think anyone here will say "well we're only paying them $X so 8-5 is ok!"

The problem wasn't that Chavis wasn't getting enough.

The problem is that there is (was) a clause in his contract that says if Miles vacates his position for whatever reason (including termination), Chavis's salary goes down to 500k. I.E. Chavis's leaving should be taken as an estimation by Chavis that Miles won't be around long.

I agree and with the statement that he made to the Houston press about being glad to be at a school with a good offense, you can see that he was seeing the handwriting on the wall with Miles.
