What. The. frick. are you saying...
Arnsparger was the DC for the only undefeated Super Bowl champion EVER. Some great ‘phins teams from the 70’s.

Whoever is saying Bill Arnsparger wasn’t elite is absolutely insane or just doesn’t know anything about him.

Lol yes the age excuse the weakest and most ignorant excuse ever concocted by the Miles internet protection army.
you have to be joking. you're not football ignorant and you know the retread nature of cfb coaching.
you know a 55 year old with the same accomplishments as Miles would be scooped up quickly. think of all the shite coaches that were fired and then was a head coach in the nest 2-3 years.
in the last decade, (4)64 year old HC have been hired at a p5 program.
currently there are (2) p5 HC that are older than Miles.
those facts alone show that his age is a big factor.
n
I'm not saying that his age is the only thing keeping him unemployed but it's the biggest factor.

You think Saban who’s older wouldn’t have his choice of jobs if he left Bama?
the fact that you have to use the Best Coach in the history of cfb as one of your older coaches is proof enough.
where is this list of 64 year old HC getting p5 job offers in the last decade?

It'd be an upgrade to have the remains of Bill Arnsparger as HC right now.

Arnsparger was an elite defensive coach. He had his shortcomings as a college football head coach, though, so I can go either way on the notion that he was "elite" in that regard.
I'd give anything for a clone of him as head coach about now, of course.

This is one of the dumbest threads ever on here.

I think everyone will agree that Arnsparger was a elite DC in the NFL. But that doesn’t make you a elite college head coach, not even close. He did good stabilizing the program and being a good leader in the 3 short years he was here. But that is it. He gets credit for that and that alone. He was a notoriously bad recruiter who was looking for his next job from the minute he got on campus.

would say "no" but my criteria was based more on results during their tenure at LSU.
Than I'd say the only two to finish AP#1. Les, Dietzel.
