in the last inning. Maybe this will give the kid some confidence!

He is a hard throwing LHP which we need more of. I thought he would get more chances this year. Hopefully he can continue to get better. Next season might see a lot more pitchers involved due to lack of aces.

He pitched really well a week or two ago in the midweek also

We will definitely need him for next year. The way his freshmen year has gone kind of reminds me of Matulis. Hopefully he develops like Chris.

Shane Reidie needs to get his sh*t together or we won't be seeing him in 2011.
Back to topic, I've liked what I've seen from LaSuzzo, Garrett, and Cotton. I wasn't expecting much from any of them this year and Garrett the star of the group has battled that shoulder he had surgery on a year ago. Garrett's going to be a weekend starter in the future. People forget he was a top 100 HS player last year and the top pitcher in GA.

LaSuzzo & Cotton are really shining for us, moreso than I had expected. I know most of their work comes from mid-week lesser opponents but still, talent needs to be developed & I like what I am seeing from these 2 young guys.

The more I see the younger pitchers perform, the more pumped I get about next year.

Regarding LaSuzzo, what more does a kid have to do and show to earn weekend duty and/or a road roster spot. I don't care if his success is against mid-week competition, striking out nearly every batter he faces says something. I know a couple of guys on weekend duty and the road roster that are only good for giving up runs and more runs every time out.

But you have to remember it was 14-3 in the 9th and Northwestern was sending up their scrubs. Not exactly a pressure packed situation. It takes a lot to earn Mainieri's trust.

Riedie's been hurt. Problems with his shoulder.
