I refuse to support any school that is apparently named after the fat kid in my kindergarten class.

As long as your band doesn't have a SWAC sound (100 tubas being played at full volume) to it, I am sure it will be enjoyable.

i hope yall are good but do remember you are not going into a school with a bad music and marching program you are going to LSU home of the Golden Band from Tigerland who is widely known as one of the best - if not the best- marching band in the country and you are playing infront of 90k people... that said good luck and I look forward to your show... what are yall playing? and how long have you been playing that show

why does everyone freak out if you say the golden band is not so great?

watch other bands. you like them because they wear purple and gold.

they are unimaginative (at least their director is)

Tiger Band SOUND is as good as anybody in the country. Halftime show design and music selection could be better. Everybody is in love with Pre-Game and "Down the Hill" but from a strictly halftime performance perspective, TGBFTL IS unimaginative. Not much over the top creativity in the show designs. They're still doing the same recycled shows and playing some of the same music I played back in the 70's and 80's. SOS week after week, month after month and from year to year. I seriouisly doubt if FW or LM has been to a major DCI show in the last 10 years. Doesn't appear they have. A lot more could be done with the halftime shows in terms of creativity and entertaining the crowd with something different. Will be good to see a really good FULL marching band coming into Tiger Stadium to give TGBFTL a little competition.....

Troy's band has nothing on Jacksonville State's.... It was the only reason people came to games before Perriloux!!!

Jacksonville State SHOULD have a great band. The university is the only school in the country that sponsors a DCI World Class Drum Corps over the summer.(Spirit of JSU) A lot of the JSU band members also march Spirit.........

Excellent. You all need to bring the announcer and see if LSU will let him do the intro for the band. Like it lots.

I'm pretty sure since TGBFTL plays "Neck," they have to be the most SWAC-like band of any band at a Division One school.

So we can add the LSU band announcer to the list of things we bitch about?

Yes...they do play Neck, but not the "SWAC-ified" version of it.

TBAlumnus82, unfortunately I must concur with you as I've seen some of the same shows we did when we were in Tiger Band.
Once idea of a show I would like to see is a Mardi Gras themed one. So many songs have been written by/for carnival and I think a great show could be made from this as well as a celebration of a uniqueness that is Louisiana. With a couple of small floats brought into the stadium to end the show with tons of throws going up to the crowd.

The bands in the SEC are much, much better than the PAC-10 bands.
