All is not well in Baton Rouge. Following LSU's sloppy 19-17 loss to Penn State in the Capital One Bowl, it's become apparent that some changes need to be made to the LSU football program.

For the second time this season, the Tigers displayed abysmal clock management in the final two minutes of a football game. With 39 seconds left in the game and no timeouts left, LSU guard Lyle Hitt pulled Penn State linebacker Navorro Bowman off a pile when Bowman was obviously squatting to waste time.

The play probably will be viewed as the drive-killer for the Tigers. But it was what happened before and after that play that should have LSU fans very concerned.

The play that caused that pile was a screen pass, just as it was in the late game debacle in Oxford against Ole Miss earlier in the season. Screen plays are slow developing, typically don't gain chunks of yardage at one time and often result in the receiver being tackled in bounds. These are things that the LSU coaching staff should already know. The fact that they apparently don't should be very concerning to LSU fans.

Great idea in that scenario but Penn State was playing a Cover two zone and they prolly had the flat zones, buzz zones and deep zones towards the sidelines taken away with defenders so no outs or corner routes could be thrown. What GC shoulda done is thrown a 1o yard curl or comeback route and have the receiver "sit" in the soft spot in the zone, catch it, after getting a first down(which stops the clock until the chains are moved)clock it, then rinse, repeat then kick the game wining FG.

Why in the hell do they let players pull each other off the pile when it is a fumble, yet Hitt tries to pull the guy off the ball and he gets a penalty. No way in hell that should have been called. Should have been a delay of game called on PSU.

Tight end in the deep middle is good route against cover 2 not a 5 yard pass

you do realize that calling people that disagree with you or that present a different angle than you names really hurts your point. it makes you look simplistic, ignorant and immature to objective readers. i know the truth hurts but that's the way it is man. it's like you calling others "poo poo face" or something. you need to elevate your game.

WHere did i say a 5 yard pass was good? we needed 10 minimum to stop the clock for a 1st down. my scenario would have given us that and the throw would not be that long or risky. we only needed 15 yards for jasper to have a great shot at making the kick. Sure you can work the seams, but with a wet ball and receivers losing footing andything deep in that weather is risky as hell. we could have done as i described if THE WIZARD would have called it. AND if we executed which is another question.

Do you realize what kind of retard keeps defending Miles, when it's obvious he's leading us into mediocrity? Look in the mirror old man.

Jeez, imagine that. The "nega-tigers" aren't the only ones that see glaring obvious problems with LSU football anymore. Can't wait to see how the Miles Lovers try to spin this around to blame someone other than the almighty savior for LSU.

The fact that the ref allowed this to happen and then threw a flag on LSU is a joke. He knew what the Penn State player was doing...he should've stopped the clock and gave them a warning.
