I'm opening the debate. Does Trey win his job back over Katz or does Katz get to keep the job based on his stellar SECT preformace?

I personally hope Trey can beat out Katz and play even better than Katz did in the tournent but that is likely to be unrealistic.

Lets say we have a 7 run lead in the 7th in game 1.. you wouldn't bring in Watkins? I would at least give the kid a shot. Before he got hurt his OBP was just as $$ as Katz's performance in the SECT.

No offense to Katz, but a .278/.350/.306 line isn't exactly a "stellar performance." Yes, he made a great play to double up the Bama runner off second, and that probably saved the game. But his offensive numbers are significantly below, say, Grant Dozar's, and I don't see people clamoring to put Dozar back in.

Now I think Katz will remain in, but it's because Watkins isn't even close to being ready to play full speed right now.

Watkins was batting .322 with a .470 on base percentage before he got hurt.

exactly, when healthy and has his timing down, he's the better option, but is that the case?

There's no doubt that, if healthy, Watkins is the best option by far. But he can barely move that elbow.

So you're saying Watkins is useless and Katz isn't that great.. Thanks for the info.
