I honestly have no idea how good or bad TQ is.

Don't have much to judge him by this year.
Seems if we judge him on a couple drops last year vs Alabama we should do the same with guys that dropped numerous balls this year that aren't named TQ.
Dude needs some balls thrown to him so we can re access.
Just my opinion.

It was more than just Bama. Those were just the most high profile drops.

Most of those players have shown some sort of upside while at LSU. Quinn has shown nothing.

The way I see it, everyone has different talents and gifts. And we're going to need everyone to beat Alabama.

There are packages with Quinn in mind, I'm sure. The timing and the opportunity just has to present itself. You never know when it's going to happen in a game. The Mad Hatter will sniff the air and let us know.

If you will look at what I was responding to you'll know exactly what it means.

Someone said he's as fast as Tyron Johnson, and someone else thought that statement was a joke.

I set the facts straight. THAT'S what it means.

Most prob bc they've gotten other opportunities since the drops.

Id just like to see him have some other chances to catch the ball before we say he can and can't do.

Other players have been awarded that, seems Quinn should too.
(This is strictly for sake of fans judging him) coaches play who they want.
Obv All the guys are proven players and could start in most places

What you and others fail to understand is that we don't have to say he can or can't do anything. We have coaches who have seen every single one of his and the other receivers' reps since the day they stepped on campus. He hasn't beaten them out to this point, end of story.

You were right, Trey Quinn is way faster than Tyron Johnson, but that doesn't make him a better WR. I still think TRey Quinn is a very talented WR, problem is that this team is loaded with very talented WR's and a very limited amount of catches to go around.

LSU has some very talented receivers....have a feeling in the November gauntlet Diarse & Quinn will make a significant play to help win a game...

A Generational-type RB like Fournette limits these chance too..after he leaves his juinor year to the NFL...Quinn could be lighting it up his Senior season with more opprtunities

TnBouy is one of the most clueless posters i have ever witnessed on TB...& thats saying a lot!

" Literally every game he was thrown to." ...This just isn't true....which is probably why you won't name a specific game/circumstance other than Bama in which it happened.

The larger point in all of this is that even IF we assume Quinn had some drops LAST year, most of our receivers from the last few years have had drop problems. To name them: Landry, Beckham, Dural, Diarse, and Dupre. Interestingly enough, Dural, Diarse, and Dupre have had drop issues this year, in multiple games.

So if everyone else has had drop problems (and they have), what is it about Quinn that he hasn't had much opportunity to get redemption? I don't know the answer. It could just be that we don't have many opportunities to go around to everyone. But over the course of 7 games, it would be reasonable to believe he would get more opportunities than he has had.

One thing I'm sure about, I have zero concerns about the all-time receiving leader's ability to catch a football.

I told that to someone else awhile back. He goes from being the Best Wr in the Country damn near to not even touching the field or getting any targets. Something is wrong with that. I wonder how his dad is handling this.

Setting the national record doesn't necessarily make him "the" best. No doubt he was one of the best, but so were Dupre, Johnson, and even Dural. Diarse was also a beast with the ball in his hands.

It's all about what he wants. Texas Tech and other schools can get him the ball more, but they don't compete much for championships and LSU has more receivers in the NFL than most other schools, especially the last 10 years.

The way I see it Dural is probably gone after this season. Dupre after next, Quinn will have competition, but he will also be in a prime spot for more catches. Ball will play the best and Quinn is still in contention.

I say he hasn't had any significant drops of a catchable ball in ANY game other than the 1 against Alabama.

That's fine. I never argued for or against him being better than Tyron.

I'm right there with you on Quinn. From what I understand is he isn't very well versed on breaking press coverage off the line of scrimmage, and that is something he rarely if ever had to do in high school.

Of course he played predominantly out of the slot as a freshman for LSU last year. The Triple D's of LSU aren't asked to do that.

There is no doubt Trey can play wide out just as well.

I bet Chark would trade places with him in a second. He doesn't even sniff the field.

Don't know many who would go from being the all time yardage record holder to accepting the role he has now and not complain. He is the definition of a team player!

dude failed to make the catch on two balls, either of which could have sealed the win vs Bama by giving first downs and run time off clock.
One ball was easy, one very fast/tough, away a bit. He has contact lenses now.

hope he gets redemption vs Bama.

For a guy who has caught 18 balls for like 200 yards in his career, people really paint him as some kind of savior at the WR position.

He and Johnson who happened to be one of the highest ranked wr's are neck n neck for 3rd spot with diarse right there as well. He's seeing the field so that says something. Harris just hasn't gone to his 3rd option really. One of our 1-2 wr's Is always open and he's not quite processing quickly enough to get to his 3-4 progressions yet. Dak is just now getting that good. It takes years. If Quinn is here next year I believe that he will get some throws his way. Look for either Quinn diarse or smith m/TE group to get a few shots next week. Bama will focus on Dural n Dupree so I could see them being used as decoys to throw off the D some.
