I really believe he could be a Jaylen Waddle type player if given the chance. Put him in the slot and throw him a couple bubble screens a game. If he can make the first guy miss he’s takin it to the house.

Boutte is our Waddle, Palmer needs to work on meeting the ball

Ease him into the slot with bubbles quickouts and drags. If he can develop his route tree to JJets level, then he can be Waddle type because he can fly

ETA-who’s he taking snaps from though

Agreed, I have been disappointed with his WR play so far. But all for him returning kicks.

Palmer is a great athlete but catching the ball and ball security may keep him off the field.
Could he play RB, so the "hands" issue would be diminished?

Trey Palmer needs more jugs work

FIFY

in all seriousness the kid is talented but still needs to progress in his development (hands and route running) maybe he will improve as the season goes on

While true, there’s no doubt his speed is a weapon and any defensive staff that sees him on the field will pay attention. Would love to see him get a jet sweep or two just to give him a shot to make something happen on offense.

Speed isn't exactly an asset Boutte doesn't have. It's the Freshman that needs more touches.

He should run our wideout sweeps. We look slow running sweeps with the RBS we have.

Palmer just seems to have that rare combination of top end speed, great vision and the ability to make cuts without slowing down. I realize his hands aren’t the best but it seems like if he could work on that he could be huge threat.
