Go look at the record holders in high school and try to find their success beyond that.

Michael Dyer - Arkanas - was really good in college until his off the field issues destroyed his promising career

Toby Gerhart - California - was an awesome college player and had a 6 year NFL career

Derrick Henry - Florida - Heisman trophy, one of if not the best back in the NFL right now

Tavon Austin - Maryland - 1st round pick out of WVU. In his 10th year in the NFL

Michael Hart - New York - 3x 1st team All-Big 10 at Michigan. Played in the NFL for 3 years

Kevin Parks Jr. - North Carolina - rushed for over 3k yards in college at UVA

Troy Fleming - Tennessee - switched to fullback in college, starter on 1998 national title winning Tennessee team. Played for the Titans for a couple years

Jonathan Stewart - Washington - All -American at Oregon, solid 10 year NFL career

Yeah, most of the all-time leaders didn't do much in college but there are still plenty who did.

As small as he is, I’m curious as to how he’ll be used, specifically next year. Not that they’re great (though there’s still hope for Emery), but I doubt Cain or Emery will be back next year. You just don’t see many 5th year RBs if they have any chance/desire to have an NFL career. And if they don’t, you probably don’t want them to be getting a bunch of carries anyway. Gonna see a totally different RB room next year I’d imagine. Hopefully they can find a transfer or 2 in the portal and the Freshmen are ready to contribute immediately.

Trey played a lot his 8th grade year but wasn't the featured back. He actually played a lot of snaps in the slot.

Trey is more of a scat back but can run with power. He has great hands.

I’ve seen him play several games. He has that one cut and gone quickness. I’m sure when he gets on the S&C program at LSU he’ll be able to put on some weight and that power run will get even better.

There are over 1 million people who play high school football each year, so tens of millions over the last few decades and you can list 8, half of which I've never heard of.

Brossette-8,704
Holly-8,458

Just 247 yds needed to break the record.
Trey had 296 yds in a 31-21 loss to Captain Shreve.

I think he was a starter as an 8th grader. Not sure.

Yep. He ran for 849 yards and 10 TD as an 8th grader on Union’s varsity team
