that was pretty sobbering to see the stat, that over the las t 20years we are the worst in the sec
considering we went to a final 4 and went to the sweet 16. i feel that if trent would hire a big time recruiter, we could get back to being a tourney contender

Stability isn't holding on to someone who is a mediocre coach.....it's lunacy.

First of all, there seems to be this fictitous divide between the LSU fans of "Fire Trent Johnson" or "Keep Trent Johnson."

In reality, the divide is "Fire Trent Johnson Immediately" and "Let This Season Play Out, and then Fire Him if Needed."

I have said since the end of last season that he needs to go about .500 in the SEC and make the NIT at least to keep his job.

I have not wavered from that. I think most people in the "let this season play out" camp feel the same way. Is that where we want to be as a program? No, however LSU has finished better than .500 in the SEC only 3 times in the past 20 years, once by Trent Johnson. It's nothing to sneeze at, considering our history.

I think most people in the "Fire Trent Johnson Now" camp would admit that 8-8 in the SEC is a positive step in the right direction.

I do not think it is lunacy to let this season play out. If it doesn't end on a positive note, then I think most people would agree that it is time for a change.

Has it really been THAT bad for 20 years? I knew it wasn't great at the end of Dale's era and the JB era, but I didn't know it was that bad.

Yes, people don't realize how bad it has been.

7 wins in SEC can't be right. He won the west his first year. Couldn' have done that with 7 win. Get facts straight. I thought he'd be able to recurit, but he can't get big time players.

Wonder if Alleva will send a "state of the MBB program" letter to the fans stating that LSU is about competing for & winning championships the way he did a couple of years back with FB?

I will say it again.

Just 5 NCAA Tournament appearances since 1993.

But you can turn things around in one season in college basketball. It's easy.

Clearly LSU should be as good as UNC and Kentucky by now? I am just baffled as to why they aren't as good. Go figure.

It's because we haven't fired enough coaches. If we fire 3 coaches a year we'll be contending in no time!
