I guess I would agree with that. And I do disagree with using prisoner labor, so I would prefer people clean up after themselves.

Its exactly what prisoners should be used for. I see absolutely no negative side to it.

But it is still essentially slave labor.

Volunteer labor. As one who has participated in something similar, its an opportunity for inmates, a positive. There is nothing slave about it.

They didn't drop off any trash cans at our place on Nicholson and West Chimes. Sometime around 2 we got two of those small recycling bins.

We got there at 7 and went go find some but some lowly worker said we couldn't get any off the truck. Then we saw a truck drive by later but they weren't handing any of them out.

Perfectly describes a large portion of our fan base.

Stupid is as stupid does. Stereotypical Louisiana mentality at its finest. Let the good times roll baby. F anything and everything except me and my drunken partying. It's one of the main reasons I hated Louisiana when I lived there (For 49 years) and why I'll probably never return as a resident. I have no tolerance for slobs AND the public officials that tolerate and do nothing about the problem........

This is weak.

So are you saying it's impossible to improve the situation, so why try?

With that attitude, tailgating permits will be coming soon, which may not be such a bad thing.

Some method is needed to raise money to address clean-up cost and enforce some minor rules, such as requiring that every tailgater bring out what they bring in - or at least that they pack a few garbage bags along with their many ice chests of food, glassware, and couches.

The fact that the prisoners have it cleaned up so quickly the next day is great, but it would be nice to instill just a little campus pride in the younger generation - rather than the current mentality, which basically sez...

"Go ahead leave that bag of chicken bones on the steps of that building over there, or let's see how many beer bottles we can break against this old oak tree, or....screw the portapotty's we always piss (and sh*t) down inside the trenches around the quad buidlings."

As a previous poster said, the majority of our fanbase basically uses the campus as a latrene and expects someone else to clean up after them.

The recent responses about efforts to protect the indian mounds reflect the general attitude that most tailgaters have about campus - that it's theirs for the taking and they'll do whatever they want.

Just throw the greeks under the bus, right?

I know for a fact that we assign pledges to pick up our shite before we go to the games, but I guess we are in the minority.

I also think those couches are from Sig Ep (Sigma Phi Epsilon), and I guarantee you their pledges came and got them.

Like I say

LSU fans are trash for the most part

We here talk bad about Auburn and Bama and their fans

Our fans are just as bad if not worse

Same mindset with this state. Let me throw trash on the ground

Somebody from DCI will pick it up

Trashy arse state

Coincidence that those pics are from where greeks tailgate? I think not.

Also, this is a giant problem with a lot of tailgaters. It's fricking pathetic also. The group next to me Saturday not only left trash everywhere, but also cracked the side view mirror on my Suburban. They'll be getting a nice talking to Saturday.

While the pictures may be from a Greek tailgate, this isn't just a Greek issue.

We used to tailgate along the old back nine on Nicholson, and the trash every week was just as bad, if not worse.

We always had cans, and part of our annual tailgate purchasing, along with cups, plates and ice, was trash bags, and we ALWAYS cleaned up after ourselves, no matter how drunk we got.

Terrible and embarrassing. We eventually moved to a different spot.

Because of the trashing of campus, and people like BT, who are the "owners of Tailgateville" and feel the need to claim eminent domain over all of campus, we eventually gave up on tailgating.

Not worth the headaches.
